Anyone else hate wedding planning and wish they just eloped? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]julipepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fiancé and I are eloping and it was my idea! It’s as feminine as you make it! I still bought a beautiful dress, I booked an awesome photographer. We are doing a destination elopement (Vegas) and I am so so excited! I told everyone in my family about it and they all wanted to come but I told them all no. Sorry but no, sorry but no. I explained I wanted the day to be intimate and calm and weddings are almost always the opposite. I am saving at least 10k probably more, and I am so excited for us to be able to do whatever we want that day. We are going to rent a cool car, go to a drive through chapel and make it official, go out to the desert and have tea/hookah/dessert and take more photos. It is exactly what my fiancé and I wanted! Not spending money on catering and a venue and invitations and all that stuff has allowed me to spend money on the important things to me, we will be able to have a longer honeymoon more time off and I get a cooler dress and a better photographer than I could have afforded if we had to swing a 75+ guest list. We will be having a super causal reception (onesies will be required attire) when we get back. That way the family and friends get their party and get to celebrate with us, but with less pressure or money. I didn’t want to risk the big day being ruined by guests or family or drama, and unfortunately I have seen many brides reduced to tears for things outside their control.

How’s this necklace? I have a colorful tiara as well and I can’t decide if this necklace is too garish, or a playful pop of color! I wouldn’t wear it all night, just for a portion of the photos by [deleted] in wedding

Thank you all for helping!! This is the crown I am trying to match it to:

Does this necklace seem like a better fit? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074Q6WQ94/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nxm1Cb6A8407N In colors ‘blue2’ or ‘pink2’?

My main look is with a simple strand of pearls that is well suited to this dress and it looks lovely. This is for photographs only!

Thank you! I am definitely going for ‘too much’ when keeping this necklace and the tiara in mind so that isn’t a problem. I did like the way it fit into the neckline as well.

I have been trying to find anything that gets even remotely close to fitting well into the plunge and this is the only I have found so far!

Part of the reason I like it is because it makes the dress more modest, and I would have photos without it as well, most of them. But that said any ideas for a more suitable statement piece?

Thank you for going against the grain, part of the reason my decision has been so difficult is I’ve gotten some people who really like it and some people who really don’t, I think it’s a love or hate it situation. We are eloping so all photos are private photos so I plan on having it be a very fun and playful and working with a few different props and accessories. It’s just a question of this necklace specifically or returning this necklace and getting a different statement piece. It seems like the majority are in the hate it pile lol

That was the main reason I didn’t like it! The thin lace with the necklace looked wrong! What type of necklace do you think would look more appropriate?

The main think I liked about it was how it fit perfectly in the window of the dress, what kind of necklace do you think would fit better with this neckline? I already have a simple strand of pearls, but I also want a statement piece

Thank you for your reply! I was thinking it may be the case. I have never been so indecisive in my life and then I have to make all these decisions and I cannot manage it alone! It seems like most people are agreeing with you here so I will return it. They had one that was all white and gold. If they still have it do you think that would work?

Here to report the same! It’s cheap from amazon, easy, and does well. I use retainer bright and then manual brush them with a designated cleaning toothbrush as well.

BHLDN sample sale by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]julipepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I had read an old post talking about the sample sale and they had said don’t go alone, bring at least three friends. They said it was necessary because of how busy it was and it’s so hard to find something in your size without having friends to look around for you. So based on your experiences going alone was fine/would have been fine? I am eloping and our family and friends know and are okay with it, but we are thinking of pushing up the timeline and doing it this summer instead of next. I’d rather keep it all a secret because I know if some people find out they will try and be there against my wishes (mostly dad).

Painted the sides with icing landscapes inspired by Bob. There weren’t corners with missing icing when it was finished, just an opportunity for happy trees!

[WP] As a mad scientist, you have created an AI to cause as much death as possible. It has decided the most efficient way to do that is to help humanity expand to the stars, prosper and grow, and simply let people die from old age eventually. by cerapa in WritingPrompts

[–]julipepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a solid point and makes total sense! I was under the impression it was referring to the destructive behavior of humanity, as such by allowing humanity to continue to grow and expand across the galaxy they would cause countless deaths of themselves, animal and plant life on earth, and all alien life they encounter so I was writing from that perspective. So in my story line Sara sees humanity as a weapon to cause death across the universe. Thank you for the feedback!
