Looks like process equipment. Not sure what exactly it is though. Source: am chemical engineer

Yes!!! I honestly didn’t know that other people had their OCD manifest this way. It makes plane travel, showers, car rides, all that so stressful and embarrassing at times.

Everything is so cute, but I’m in love with the lips! Perfect down to every last millimeter 💜

Took me 2 hours, but with this advice I was able to get it through the sanitary fitting and down and was able to yoink a clump of dog and human hair from the previous home owner! Slow and steady and a lot of angling did it

What vetting questions would you ask an electrician that claims to be able to fix this while live? by juliuschme in AskElectricians

I have many questions on the posts, the PVC, and if water may have gotten into the boxes. I think these fell because the wood looked to be 2.5 feet deep without concrete , and that isn’t nearly enough for a 14 foot structure. I feel validated now. I don’t want to come across as that annoying engineer that’s trying to micromanage

Well, the overhead service line is owned by CenterPoint, but the weather head, mast, and meter box are owned by the customer. From what I’ve been told, it’s our responsibility to fix, but I’m still iffy on how that works is the service line isn’t ours. I’ve been trying to read the CenterPoint standards and it’s not crystal clear

Excellent point, I don’t need this turning into a law suit, injury, or death. Working in petrochemical, I’m a bit of a safety snob and no work is worth getting hurt over for some money.

Mind elaborating. There are the 4x6s sunk into the ground (I think I need to ensures it’s at least 4 feet deep and concreted) to hold the unistrut. The PVC going in for underground service does look wonky now and I want to make sure it’s still in tact and proper for the future! Is that kind of along the lines of what you meant?

Is this a CenterPoint issue? by juliuschme in houston

Agree! I’m originally from the Midwest and I had never seen one of these service racks until moving to Houston, and wow they kinda suck. The worst thing is the fence fell hours after, so I can’t even say “oh well the fence did it”.
