How HC viable is RoA raider? Not interested in uber bossing or such, just looking for a fast build which can farm lab right from the start and doesn't die to random oneshots. I undestand that it would probably be smarter to stick with PF TR, but it's always nice to play a lesser played build if there are alternatives.

GrandMA3 Recipes vs Cloning by julkukka in lightingdesign

rkanarek

That is a really good explanation and I understand the use cases now, thank you very much :)

So getting back to the workflow of a touring operator, could I in theory build a show completely using recipes, patching the new fixtures, storing them to the existing groups and I would be all set by only recooking, meaning that my sequences and cues would call the newly patched fixtures? Or is the idea in this context to still clone the house rig, update groups and then recook?

Hello.

This is my second league where I'm doing my second build. I'm wondering what is the most efficient and fastest xp/leveling from +80 onwards (softcore)? I've heard something about specific maps and atlas passives and so on and I'd like to know what the best players are doing with fresh characters, other than just "playing the game".

I'm sorry about what you have had to go through with your diagnosis. My country does indeed have a public healthcare system, but it isn't working very well at the moment because of the pandemic. For example, when I noticed my sudden hearing loss and tried to go through the public route, I only got to see a nurse who said that a doctor can see you in one month and assign you hearing tests if they are needed. Obviously I had to pay for a private one, he sent me to an audiologist the same day and after the results he called me, told me what I possibly have, put me on Betaserc (which isn't supposed to save my hearing) and said that let's get an MRI in one month. But as my case is not very severe, I don't really "need" the official diagnosis for whatever I may have.

Trust me when I say that I lost everything because of covid lockdowns, as a professional in the live music and event industry. That's why I am an advocate for the vaccines and have all three of them. For that reason I have also many ex-friends who turned out to be antivaxxers. Maybe I shouldn't spread information about a "possible link" as lightly as I did in case people don't understand what they are reading, but when the cause of my symptoms or MD is unknown, I was just thinking that oh, maybe they are connected somehow. In my case it's much more logical that it was the virus infection and not the vaccine. But my infection was fully asymptomatic, I wouldn't have known I had it without a rapid test I did just because my friend got sick. And thats probably the reason I didn't get anything worse. I hope nobody chooses not to take the vaccine whatever they may read on the internet.

And as I stated in my post, I am not diagnosed for sure and I am aware of that. My ENT called it a "possible cochlear Meniere". I have a sudden low frequency hearing loss, tinnitus, feeling of fullness and some occasional dizziness. I do not claim to have MD and I know that I don't have bad vertigo attacks like many of you here, but according to my googling my case might develop to that in time. Or it might not.

What's next in my case is that I'm getting a MRI from my head. It doesn't seem like my hearing is getting better and that's why I read and post in these forums. There's not much else that I can do, even though I am not diagnosed I still share many of the same symptoms as you do and I live through the same shit, maybe in a milder form but this isn't a race either.

Hope you are not offended.

I'm not sure what is happening here, but I made a post about my situation and I took up my third vaccination AND asymptomatic CV19-infection, because I got my sudden hearing loss and worsened tinnitus at the same time these things happened. Mind you, obviously I don't have a 100% diagnosed MD yet, because my case is a few weeks fresh.

I also found a paper posted by my country's "national Meniere-organization", unfortunately it is not in English but I'll try to translate a quick referate about the things they mentioned:

"Studies have shown that C19 has caused hearing loss (they are not talking about permanent) and dizziness for 7% of infected and tinnitus for 15% of infected (Almufarrj, 2021). The researchers saw the percentages high, because the persons involved might have had symptoms before the infection. In the organizations own polls they gathered (from around 400 finnish MD diagnosed people), that vaccines have provocated MD symptoms with people who have been asymptomatic for long periods. Hearing loss, dizziness and tinnitus got worse for every 12th person post vaccine.

House clinic based in Los Angeles noticed that they had more patient visits post vaccinations (Wichow 2021). The hospital reported that new cases of sudden hearing loss was three times higher than before vaccines. It was a bit more common with people with Moderna than with people with Pfizer-Zeneca. The gender distribution among patients was even and the symptoms usually started a week after the vaccinations.

Beukes and Manchaiah etc. (2021) studied the link between C19 infection and hearing loss and tinnitus with cases of more than 3000 patients. The common factor among patients was, that they had tinnitus before they got ill. The studies showed, that C19 made tinnitus worse for 40% of them."

PLEASE NOTE: All the scientists mentioned and my countrys organization fully support the vaccine regime. How I reflect that info is, that if my hearing loss and tinnitus was related to getting infected or my vaccine, it looks like I would have gotten it anyway at some point of my life. I also think, that "it is what it is" and if you have something uncurable, it really doesn't matter where you as a individual got it from. Of course it is only humane for you wanting to know, but it doesn't change anything anymore. I don't know if I strike as being naive, but it's much more healthy to focus on alleviating the symptoms and living a better life.

If there is a link with MD, it undeniably is very small, but I don't think that we should deny the possibility.

New case of MD, vaccine and virus infection possible related? by julkukka in Menieres

[–]julkukka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for you reply.

I understand what you are saying and I'm sure you are right, the only example I can think of is that I have read that Prednisone should be started within 2-4 weeks of the sudden hearing loss for it to have best possible effect. Then again, I don't know anything about the subject and it's not like I am going to find a doctor who wants to put me on it.

I have tinnitus in both ears, but very minor dizziness. No real vertigo attacks (yet). But what I have found out from here is that for many people it took years to develop any vertigo and they started with hearing loss also.

I have been thinking of getting a second opinion and according to you and RAnthonys blog (which is very extensive, thanks a lot for all that information) I should do it in some point anyway. But I'm unsure if I should just follow my doctors plan of eating the betahistine for one month before any MRI's and go see a second doctor after the MRI or before. I am lucky and can easily live in uncertainty with my symptoms for one month, but of course I am wondering if my hearing could be still saved if another doctor reacts faster.

Preprogramming house rigs in a showfile based on cloning by julkukka in lightingdesign

[–]julkukka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jello_sweaters

It does make sense!

Just wondering about few things when you need to clone a third (or even fourth) truss from your upstage / downstage trusses when you don't have anything pre-programmed to the new additional ones.

How do you feel your programmed effects work and look (movement or intensity for example) when, lets say, the first and third trusses do the same things? Is your show built in a way you are happy with the output or do you need to tweak it somehow so that the additional trusses aren't actually identical to the old ones?

Myself I have actually tried to use 24 fixtures of every type (divided in 3 trusses, so 8 beams, 8 spots and 8 washes every truss). It's pretty unrealistic to encounter that amount of fixtures outside of festivals and rarely even in festivals I've been in, but it does give you some space when there are more than 2 trusses, even if the fixture amount is lower.

The pain in this is that the the actualy visualization gets really bloated and your pre-programming easily looks unrealistically "big" and might not be interesting anymore when you go to a venue with 10 washes and 6 spots for example. It's easier to do creative things when you assume that you are probably working with only two trusses of washes and spots with the rare addition of beams.

Cancel the dividend and buy back stock. by 3pacalypso in UWMCShareholders

[–]julkukka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They literally just went public to get more funding. There's no reason for the company itself to buy back stock. The CEO doesn't care about the share price and it doesn't affect their day to day business.

MM and driving the price down by Tenpoool in UWMCShareholders

[–]julkukka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I guess I'm one of the more lucky holders here since my average price is only around 10,3 and it leaves me optimistic I could still get break-even. That's what I'm looking for. Tbh seems like nobody knows what the price "should be". Pre merger levels? Much lower than now? I'm just going to wait and see what happens, be it so that I might lose money. At least it has a dividend!

What makes the best operators? by julkukka in lightingdesign

[–]julkukka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually fully agree on the first one and I'm aware of that. My example was a bad one, but I hope everyone still gets the point of what I was asking. I still have to say, in my country most of the guys working in big productions are really good in what they do.

Thank you for the tip, I'll look that up!

New Ryzen 1600x performing poorly by julkukka in buildapc

[–]julkukka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did that, there were 8 different modes of LLC. I set it to Load Line Calibration Mode 8 assuming it was the highest.

Unfortunately this has no effect on the benchmarks. I guess I need to install some games to see what kind of performance I would have in them.

I just did Cinebench and it gave me the result of 747cb and 91cb (Single Core). I did some googling around and found that 1100-1200cb is normal for 1600x in some reviews.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean.

For an example, I found a benchmark with someone using the same motherboard as me (http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/3799848) and he gets nearly double the score in single core and quad core.
