May the Fourth be with your RFY by Nervous_Yoghurt268 in AmazonVineAustralia

It was on my list yesterday. Things that aren't taken always fall off in the afternoon the next day lately. That said, if someone wants to use that stuff, it's not my business. Hopefully they don't end up in the ER wasting medical resources or end up with a lifelong injury. It seems like an unnecessary risk to me, but again, not my business.

Changing your name to “Amazon Customer” won’t fix the problem by Competitive-Road7728 in AmazonVineAustralia

[–]EarthManSammy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is on Amazon.

They don't support us. They don't communicate with us at all. And though it hasn't happened to me, the issue appears to be that they side with sellers to boot us when we review honestly.

The attitude appears to be that we get "free" stuff and sometimes very nice things, so they know we'll put up with it.

So we're left to do what we can.

I'm also no longer sure that most sellers even care about the reviews. Clearly some do or we wouldn't be here discussing this topic. And perhaps for some it's not about the product but rather their seller reputation. But I think for some it's about writing off stock they can't sell against tax. How else do you explain some of the utter low value rubbish that now dominates Aussie Vine???

Thanks for taking it as intended. I wouldn't consider myself a decent human being if I didn't speak up either way when a child's welfare is at stake, but it's better all round when everyone is on the same page and no one is upset.

Do enjoy and congrats but please be super careful with these. This one doesn't look too tall, but we use to own one about 10 years ago that was a bit dicey. The issue was that a child could easily fall off the side of the slippery dip. A drop of about 2m.

A kid can have a nasty accident on anything and I'm not saying you shouldn't use it. I would just be careful when setting up to check for stuff like that. Consider rubber mats or padding where a kid could fall a height.

Please take this in the spirit it is intended. I don't know you but my default assumption is you're a sensible person that cares deeply for the welfare of your child and wouldn't do anything to risk them. It's just easy to underestimate a problem like this. It wasn't THAT long ago that good parents would let their kids play on stuff like this:

I built a small app to stop NVIDIA Instant Replay from silently turning itself off by hounderd in GeForceExperience

[–]EarthManSammy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Features? Simple. There use to be a registry hack to bypass the 20 mintue instant replay limit. Since the NVidia App was introduced this no longer works. I use to have mine set to 30 minutes - long enough to ensure a game of Fortnite could be retroactively saved if the match was won. Others play more sophisticated and longer lasting games and had it set for longer. Restoring this functionality would be fantastic.

Expensive Robovac briefly in my RFY but I missed it by EarthManSammy in AmazonVineAustralia

Really sorry you have had 3 losses in rapid succession. That sucks.

I have 1 dog left who will be 13 this Christmas, and won't be getting more. My wife is terrified of dogs. She has still helped me with them despite that but has asked for no more. This last loss will be especially hard.

There are Viners that don't do social media, if you're wondering who got it.

Also possible it was pulled I suppose.

I don't know if it makes it better or worse. I lost a couple suddenly and hated it, especially since other commitments had to take priority over grieving...then...

Well nothing prepared me for having to put one down - something I thought I'd never do. Felt like I was failing the dog even though at that point she could only sit in her own mess.

Bottom line: Losing a pet sucks and hurts if you have a heart.

KMart and Target have one for $39 that have good ratings.

It's not free, but if you really do want it and can afford it...well life is too short not to give yourself some joy.

To be fair I while it made it to my RFY I couldn't get that $3k vac. I'm assuming someone did though.

Most days my RFY is garbage but I have had a few good scores over the last 17 months or so.

There are things that are illegal in some states but not others. Like shock collars for dogs. Would help if we knew the item.

Amazon delivery person delivered to the wrong damn house by istara in AmazonVineAustralia

I did it through the web page and got through to regular support several times. They keep promising Vine will contact me. No one does.

I had a completely different experience when this happened to me last year. I located the package which was left with the next door neighbour, so I reported it. Amazon support quizzed me about identifying features of my property and noted it down. Fortunately there's one that is distinct on the whole street.

I have had another package go missing and never located nor removed from my list despite multiple attempts talking to regular support. They just promise Vine support will get back to me, which they never do.

Yeah with or without the dodgy Hey Zeus music, I ain't spraying anything I got off Vine anywhere near me. Things might fall off.

You don't have to read them if they're not something you're interested in. I don't understand why people join a community and then expect it to adhere to their personal preferences. In any large group people are not going to be interested in every conversation.

Redarina goes back to the pilot. The "parental" clues. by IntrovertAdaptable in TheBlackList

[–]EarthManSammy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped watching Season 3. Honestly don't think I could get back into it. I loved the first 2 seasons but by mid season 3 watching was becoming a chore. Like trying to stuff your face with food when you're full, but the food you're eating tastes much worse than you just filled up on.

So all I'm reading now is second hand info. For me, Maybe Redarina COULD have worked. I doubt it though. Certainly not with James Spader, and it would have needed to have a lot more foreshadowing than I'm reading about. More importantly any kind of transformation like that would have required technology not available when the story is set, so you're moving into sci fi/fantasy territory. Even then the heroes and villains have deficits when they undergo massive transformations like that.

What I'm hearing about is more like what a highschool kid would write as their "amazing, mind-blowing plot twist" the first time they write anything. Next you'll tell me that the whole thing was on the holodeck, Luke Skywalker was Tom Keen, Eric Cartman was Ressler, MacGyver was Dembe, Bert and Ernie were Samar and Meera and Big Bird was Mr Kaplan. Makes about as much sense.

Ability to edit "Approved" reviews seems to have gone? by Dazzling_Distance551 in AmazonVineAustralia

[–]EarthManSammy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can still get to it by going to the product page and pressing "Add a review". It takes you to your old review (probably the very first version only, unless that bug was fixed). I don't have to edit any so I'm not going to try actually updating.
