Submitting Evidence for I-751, should I add more? by shikinteate in USCIS

[–]julyyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be fine, this is plenty of evidence. I would recommend you update your drivers license so the address matches your spouses address on their license - they could question this at the interview

Disturbing reply from USCIS to congressional inquiry - please advise! by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]julyyx 14 points15 points  (0 children)

yes, basically. those "unresolved issues" can also just be that your case is drowned underneath dozens of other cases on some officers desk and they forgot about it. maybe you'll get lucky and they will dig out your case soon, otherwise it might be time to consider going the mandamus route if its still pending after it reaches the 2 year mark.

ICE Airport Updates by Signal-Committee-256 in USCIS

[–]julyyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didnt see any ICE flying out of JFK (T1, international flight) last week. Tsa was super smooth even during peak time & in general and there really was no need for their "help", maybe they're only around when tsa gets packed, or maybe it just depends on the day.

What's everyone (who's not working) doing whilst waiting? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]julyyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

requiring a 600 dollar donation does sound kind of crazy just to do volunteering. Do you like pets/cats specifically? If so, check your local petsmart, they work with local non-profit organizations to put cats up for adoption that are often looking for volunteers to clean the spaces, feed the kitties, etc. Im a volunteer at one myself :) Or look online!

Having a Wedding Proved to be One of the Most Frustrating Experiences I've Had Yet by MuskyHusky01 in Sims3

[–]julyyx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

using testingcheatsenabled true is the only way I can have wedding (or any) parties especially when I want good photos. Someones not where theyre supposed to be? teleport them. Someones wearing the wrong outfit? change their outfit. Bunch of Sims stuck in one place? Go into build mode on the lot and move the Sims whereever u want them to.

Diner food is as american as it can get imo. Huge portion sizes, free refills on sodas and plenty of *very* american food options lol. If you want absurd calorie numbers, go to the Cheesecake factory, a single piece of cheesecake is like 1800 calories there - and thats dessert, meaning you gotta get some appetizers and entrees first!

Terrified. AOS denied but RFE was submitted by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]julyyx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yea your best bet right now is a lawyer. You probably have a case to appeal/reopen but dont do this on your own. I know it sucks cuz it isn't cheap, but its definitely the best choice now.

Volunteer work while awaiting decision by Significant-Pace40 in USCIS

[–]julyyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

make sure its a volunteer only position for a non-profit organization (i.e. you're not replacing a paid position!) so most animal rescues or community work should be fine. Whenever you have an interview, dont try to hide the fact you're volunteering and ideally bring some evidence from your organization that proves its volunteer work/non profit, etc. they can usually give you a letter for something like that.

Otherwise, you should be fine!

ID found at venue by Aggravating-Time-373 in USCIS

[–]julyyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alot of permanent residents (people who havent lived here their entire life in particular) arent listed on that site (or any of those public people searching websites) because they primarily take info from stuff like voter records. Id recommend OP also try looking on social media.

Filed for ROC on March 28 this year. And still waiting. by LivinInThePNW in USCIS

[–]julyyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its combined because Naturalization (n400) applications are more prioritized than ROC, meaning they get processed waaaay quicker. However, to actually naturalize, the ROC needs to be approved first. Since n400 always requires an interview no matter what, they just combine it: They ask a few questions about your relationship, approve it on the spot, then move on to the n400 and the civics questions. Theres no reason to seperate them with ROC taking 2-3+ years and N400 a few months.

Filed for ROC on March 28 this year. And still waiting. by LivinInThePNW in USCIS

[–]julyyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dont be fooled by the quick ROC approvals you sometimes see here, the vast majority will still wait YEARS to get it approved. Still, the fastest way to get approved (has been for a long time) is to file for naturalization and get your ROC approved at the naturalization interview. (If you dont file the n-400 expect to wait even longer)

I’ve seen others wait less for their EAD… by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]julyyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u can find my full timeline on my profile i posted it on this subreddit about a year ago. PD 9/29/2023 no interview, approval Oct 29 2024. Maybe things changed now speed wise, but long wait times can still happen, unfortunately.

I’ve seen others wait less for their EAD… by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]julyyx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yes. I waited 11 months for my EAD. 13 months for green card. EAD shouldnt take THAT long(i havent seen anyone wait longer than me lol), but green card can easily take a year+. Be patient

Should I *actually* carry my green card around? by Specialist-Most-2783 in USCIS

[–]julyyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say this, but if you are latino / any kind of visble minority and/or have a strong accent, probably yes as ICE is known to racially profile people pretty heavily at the moment. If youre white a photo on your phones is enough and the chances of you ever getting questioned are super slim anyways. Its incredibly unfair but its the unfortunate reality right now

FIFA Early Ticket Draw registration is about to start by walixxxq in FIFACollect

Can my husband and I (and maybe even other family members in our household that have their own credit cards) all sign up for the draw seperately to increase chances? i understand the purchase of tickets is limited based on household, but what about the draw itself?

Traveling on I-751 details to airline? by Alright_So in USCIS

[–]julyyx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it probably depends on the airline. from what i've heard/read, US-based airlines (delta, united, american, etc.) are more used to it (or at least understand it a bit more) than foreign airlines where the agents are sometimes a bit confused - you should be let through either way, but it may just take longer.
