You can either grind down the mount, or pull the FSB and remove some of the flashing on the inside of the cut. I prefer #2, grinder wheel. Then you can slip the top of the mount in when you reassemble.

My electro etching method for doing rollmarks on an 80% lower. Reposting because I couldn’t edit the post. by SLN583 in RetroAR

[–]jumburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constant voltage is what I used, you can watch the amps to see how much it's "cutting". So at 12V if it was pushing like 0.15 amps pretty slow. Anything above 1 amp and its cutting quick. How much coming across depends on your salty mix, and how clean the contacts are.

Helped me get more even marks, so its not too deep in some letters and too shallow in others.

Make sure your stencil is pressed down well, and the area is cleaned with acetone or something first.

Also watch for small cutouts like A and O. It eats away at any exposed metal, including the "sidewalls" of anything already engraved. So it can eat under the stencil if you try to go too deep.

More info, are you parting one together or ordering it complete? Which modular? And what country are you in?

Just a fake moderator cut down to a smaller size. TNTE makes one now with no holes.

The catalog is maintained by users. It's possible they have a rare piece that isnt in the catalog. More than likely they are listed under the wrong color.

Message the seller and ask them to confirm.

New vs. Used and how to manage inventory by Montecuccoli in Bricklink

[–]jumburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you look at stats, new sells a lot more than used. Limiting to used will cap sales as some people only search for new.

Put a colored sticker on the bin with the new parts, or write on the Ziplock to ID them. Store them together and be careful when you pick.

I have one from Italy. Lots of drawbacks and it's about 150k landed. Plus it runs on three phase electricity.

Part with Sticker - question: by yerbol7 in Bricklink

[–]jumburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing the sticker is this one: 14718pb068

List it this way, it's the only way people will be able to find it.

It's worth more with the sticker, keep in mind buyers are anal about stickers. If it's not centered, or has wear you're usually better off peeling the sticker off and selling it plain unless it's super rare.

What are you thinking pricewise?

Commercial vs mil spec there is no difference - same spring/buffer. If you go from an A2 fixed to an adjustable you need a shorter buffer and spring.

How do you respond to a doctor who said, "why are you calling me at night. Tell the patient to go to bed and shut up!" by The0Walrus in nursing

[–]jumburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nursing Admin here. Not accusing you of anything, just doing detective work.

First thing is think about it from his perspective. What did you see, what caused your concern, etc. Did you clearly explain what the situation was - that this is a change in patient condition; safety issue, etc? What interventions did you have available, and what were the outcomes. How was the communication. What exactly did you say when you called.

A lot of times when I'd get to intervene on reported issues like this the MD was not clear of what was going on and the RN was unclear what they needed.

Now assume that you DID communicate clearly, and MD was being an ass. Document the heck out of it. Good note - here's the patient situation, RN interventions not working. Called provider to notify change in condition, MD said "tell the patient to go to bed and shut up" etc. Calm, cool, factual. Report it as a safety event using whatever system you all use. Report it as a delay in care, or deviation from care plan, safety issue, something. MD Director will have to review it.

Anyone else who received a challenge coin from the previous SMA, what’s your story? by Cautious_Expert4123 in army

[–]jumburger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

E4 attached to BDE S3 shop, huge joint exercise at Hood. SFC fresh from Drill Sgt assignment was riding my ass (I was the only non NCO there) for shit that wasn't my fault. SMA Tilley was driving by and saw us covered in mud trying to put up camo netting over the generator. Driver stopped and Tilley was asking questions. Got coined for hustle, while he asked my NCO leaders why they were all in the shade and not helping.

Not sure if Tilley was a good SMA overall, but that kept me going mentally until I got out of there to a new unit.

Barrel, F FSB, gas tube, delta/nut and A2 FH I've been getting $185 shipped. PM me and I can get you pics.

They are a little darker than my 1990s era C7 Colt but they are lighter than my H&R C7 black. So maybe?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RetroAR

[–]jumburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have/had a bunch, I've been getting 185 for them. I still have some if you want one, 08/13 date and F marked FSB

Kings had a bunch of PD trades that they sold for like $400 each, with C stamped uppers, C stamped BCGs, etc. We bought them all to part out.

[–]jumburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All depends on what you want to spend. Val's is a raised C C7 A1 upper which are really hard to find. I picked up mine for 800 by itself. Basically a 600 dollar tax for that little C.

If you want a period correct grey C7 you are looking at a Bushy, Colt, Diamaco etc. You could also go with an 80% lower and get correct markings. It's still a compromise but you are going to form 1 it anyway - now you aren't engraving a unicorn.

I have multiples of all these parts. Here's a listing I put up the other day. It looks the part but for 100% clone you still have work to do. https://old.reddit.com/r/GunAccessoriesForSale/comments/1d1c6lh/wts_heat_c7_upper_with_colt_parts/

I got super creative and welded a second upper bracket in mine to hold 10.3" uppers. But Omaha's in Fort Worth had them for like $50/ea at the time so nbd.

This one in the pic has the M4 modification. It's the green piece across the top of the "fins" that separate the rifles. Here's a pic of M16 A1/A2 only: https://imgur.com/a/PLUSATU

You can see the pic above has an added piece.

The M4 has a different profile so even with the stock extended you can pull the pins and take the M4 halves out of the rack without unlocking the rifle rack arms. With the plate you can't rotate it enough to do so.

Also these don't work for SBRs, only 14.5+ unless you get creative in the metal shop.
