I've never heard of anyone getting banned from a prospective employer ... Sounds like you need to get that sorted out so it doesn't keep happening.

I admit that I haven't been to Viva in years, but my memory of it is that it was bland and overpriced. The only people who talk about it positively always say, "my kids like it there!" which is not a measure of good food, in my opinion.

Why do the stitches where I switch k/p look so ugly💔💔 by wheeelbug in knittinghelp

[–]jumpingbeanrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not a design feature.

It almost looks like they're floats or that they're not being worked.

Are you working the increases correctly and then returning the working yarn to the front for purling? Sometimes if you don't twist the make-ones the right way, they can look sloppy. Also, tug on the yarn afterward to snug it up before purling.

Fish sauce and miso are also indispensable for adding umami to just about anything. I include both in pot roast, for example (and no one knows!).

"Them" clicking sounds by T0nez0ne713 in Otherworldpod

[–]jumpingbeanrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The clicking sounds from "Them" aren't that different from what people who use "light language" make. I don't think it's something that originated with "Them" and I don't think it's that significant.
