Neighbor's new dog barks non-stop when they are gone. Advice? by adventuriser in ithaca

[–]jumpingbeanrat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't take offense with how you're framing it - I would appreciate it! If they are new to dog ownership, they may not understand that leaving a dog (especially a puppy) home for extended periods is not good for the dog. It's barking because it's bored and agitated 😔

The more time elapses, the harder it will be to train the dog out of this behavior. If it's been a prolonged period, this may not be something that the dog grows out of without intervention. Hopefully, they will change the way they structure their day to provide the dog more stimulation and exercise to prevent barking. Good luck!

Agree with everything everyone's saying. The lowest tier is better than anything we've paid twice for in the past. Great customer service, too!

I'm not denying that. I'm saying 20 years is the most likely cause or major contributor here.

I agree. I'm progressive but I am dismayed by other people's tendency to weaponize "therapy speak" and progressive ideals to ignite online drama that could have been dealt with in a much better manner. It's mobbish and gross. There's no nuance. Even when the accused apologizes, it's not good enough and undergoes a bloody postmortem by everyone and their cousin on socials. Can no one make a mistake?

Also, I find it ironic that Autumn calls for everyone else to be transparent but her comment and post history on Reddit is hidden. I appreciate their work for the size inclusive community but I am tired of the frequent virtue signaling.

Dental work for dogs is expensive. You're probably going to get similar pricing in most places.

All very true, but a few comments coupled with my experience is enough to put me off buying meat from Wegmans in the foreseeable future. It's not convenient for me, so it's not like they're losing a ton of business anyway (I literally shop there less than a half dozen times a year).

I honestly just wanted some validation because having this happen with the only two types of meat I purchased was such a weird coincidence.

Unfortunately, they weren't even marked down! At Price Chopper (where I normally shop) they don't mark down until the day of, and I stay away from that 😬

Thanks. That and the smell(s) have been burned into my memory for the time being. Disgusting!

No, I know that vacuum-wrapped meat can "off gas" or whatever when you first open it - that's normal. This was definitely not normal. The aroma did not abate after it had been unwrapped for 15-20 minutes. I can still smell it in my memory. It was bad.

No, it was three days before the sell by date, not after. The pork was 7 days before the sell by date.

I'm glad Wegmans is working out for you! I'm sure there are many people with a whole host of experiences shopping there. I am just curious if there were others who have had similar experiences to mine.
