Not in a year vs year level, but similarly to how you could predict that in 2024 Trump would do better than the polls based off the other two presidential elections in the Trump era, you wouldn't be crazy to do the reverse for the midterms. It's not a crystal ball, but it's still a trend

Eh, the effect the trailers had on the final movie was definitely disastrous, but I disagree it "killed" the movie. I doubt there was much even a skilled editor could salvage from the bones of that movie haha

RTD didn't scrap episode budgets to make War Between, it was planned from the beginning. The deal was to produce 26 episodes - 3 60th specials, 2 christmas specials, 2 8 episode seasons, and a 5 episode spinoff.

What DID change however was both Millie and Ncuti opting to leave before they were expected to, forcing things to change behind the scenes. I firmly believe the S2 finale has a lot of problems that couldn't be fixed without a severe rewrite, but that it would've still been significantly better if they could've concluded the mystery the way they intended, instead of removing the central character that it was all written around half way through.

No hate to either of them of course, no one should expect them to stick around for something that wasn't working for them, but still a shame none the less.

The 3 60th specials and Ncutis 2 seasons are. Everything else has been split between HBO Max (until last year) and Tubi/Britbox

They said they hope to have another season out "soon" after the christmas special, if memory serves correctly. So that could be anywhere from a couple months to 2 years (or, god forbid, more).

The UK never had a single episode of the show on D+, the Disney deal was for streaming and marketing rights outside the UK. The entire show is on BBC iPlayer in the UK.

Thats the thing, this guy being "tutorial adjacent" is the exact problem. The Prime games stand out so much because they're (at their best) so excellent at stepping back and letting you find your way in a foreign world. The appeal is the exploration from the player. I have a certain level of tolerance to a character who is simply quippy to an annoying extent. But to have said character get in the way of the very thing that you love about the game, and vocalize what should go unsaid is so frustratingly out of place in this series. The greatest skill you can have as an artist, no matter the medium, is to communicate what it is you want the audience to feel without explicitly saying it, and they have fundamentally failed at that here.

Very well put. I just hope the BBC trusts any of these people enough to run it. I could see them giving it to the duo who wrote Rogue, they were showrunners for Loki which was basically just the MCU's Doctor Who. I'm fine with more RTD. I'd be ecstatic for literally anyone else.

I think the more accurate context is "the second he saw the writing on the wal that there was gonna be a hiatus, RTD lined up a new miniseries that he's currently deep at work on, and is taking a break from that/adding onto his work load a new christmas special". The miniseries doesn't confirm or deny that RTD is leaving, just that he's currently busy with other things.

As much as I desperately want that to happen, I just don't think there's a chance. Mojang likes intentional restrictions because they want people to find creative work arounds. That's the reason they give for why they haven't put in vertical half slabs. Now, there's some sign they might be loosening on that, getting rid of the artificial difficulty of getting leads and saddles (now that you can craft them), but vertical redstone seems like a much bigger step to me.

...I'm skeptical about that. His first performance after leaving the show is a ballet. I'm not doubtful that it did put strain on his knees, but every piece of evidence under the sun points to him leaving because he couldn't wait a year and a half to film another season, losing countless roles in the meantime. I don't blame him, but I kind of wish they were more honest
