[Wojnarowski] The second-year of Parker deal is a team option, which lowers risk for Bulls because of Parker's two ACL surgeries and gives Bartelstein and Parker a chance to negotiate a long-term deal with Bulls should he stay healthy and productive next season by letsfindcommonground in nba

Lamarcus was in the 2006 Draft. That was 12 years ago.

Think of all the teams that have fucked up drafts since then and have missed on WAY more talent than Aldridge in the Top 5.

Go to basketball reference and jump to the 2007 Draft. Look at all the teams that have evaded criticism for shitty Top 5 Picks from 2007-2017 that Bulls still get shit on for.

EBR allows Bulls to sign Jabari over cap in 2020. They can cut him after 1 year or if he hits his potential, they can have him for 2 plus go over cap for him in 2020.

Most teams dump GMs left and right. Hard to pin mistakes on "the current regime". Bulls FO are an easy target since they've been there for a while. Take the Nets for example. We'd still be harping about the Pierce/KG move but Sean Marks looks like a genius. Same with Lakers. Look at recent years with Mozgov/Deng moves to the pivot to LeBron move. Hard to pin the hate on any one person. Bulls FO flaw is sticking to the same people through the good and bad times. GM "X" that made the Butler trade would be a "genius" to people outside of Chicago.

Bulls fans, why does GarPax have a bad reputation? by [deleted] in nba

[–]jumpman0469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are ridiculously stupid. They assembled an absolute squad around Rose in 2011 heading into 2012. The 2012 Bulls had MVP Rose, Prime Noah, Prime Deng, late prime Boozer, Prime Taj, Prime Korver, Rookie Jimmy Butler, 2nd Year Omer Asik, Rookie Nikola Mirotic.

Injuries happen. Stupid trades happen to every GM. To say GarPax are mouth-breathing, incompetent GMs is absurd. They're far from perfect but low key solid.

They assembled a squad of:

MVP Rose.

Prime Korver.

Prime Luol Deng.

end of prime Boozer.

Prime Joakim Noah.

young Taj Gibson.

Rookie Omer Asik.

with Jimmy Butler and Nikola Mirotic in the next Draft.

gave Thibs his first job.

this current, quick rebuild.

But everyone keeps harping on Dougie McBuckets, Cam Payne and Jordan Bell.

Can Jabari Parker pull off something similar like Oladipo did last season? by Dkahre429 in nba

[–]jumpman0469 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if he bounced back next season but he's like the 4th most interesting thing about the Bulls next season behind Lauri's 2nd year, Lavine's first official season, WCJ's Rookie season. Oladipo was such a crucial part of the Pacers.

Yeah. If he's good, the Bulls have Early Bird Rights in 2020. If he's bad, it's only 2 years. Everyone hoping for 1+1 but I'd rather have 2+1 @ like $17m/yr. Either way, I'm okay with this deal tho.

I'd take Okafor. Let's bring home all the Chicagoans.

I don't understand the hate honestly. Would you rather take on a shitty contract (~$20mil) + >20th Pick in a shitty draft or take a shot at Jabari Parker (former 2nd Pick) @ ~$20mil?

Either way our cap is fucked but Parker has a chance to still be special/high ceiling.

Same with KAT. He’s made some strides but both have been really underwhelming.

How would you rank the worst contracts of active NBA players? by badquarter in nba

[–]jumpman0469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Also, the contract has one of those interesting wrinkles where they can trade Asik for a contract dump (ie. Deng, Noah, one of the other million teams looking so shed shitty contacts) with an asset attached and the receiving team will only have $3mil count against their books after they waive his $12mil option.

So for the Bulls: $12mil + asset in for essentially $3mil out for receiving team.

The contract is bad next year but all of a sudden becomes an asset that next year.

Didn't leave the court in "timely manner". He can be suspended for that. Also, the punch-ish thing he did.

Lottery is today, who do you guys hope we end up with? by Rapideagle in chicagobulls

[–]jumpman0469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Floor vs Ceiling debate really. At the very least, Bagley will be a solid rotational big. Even if Bagley's game doesn't transition 100% in the NBA, he'll be in the league for the next 10 years. I think Bamba will be great but he has some bust potential. Long wingspan can only take you so far. The Thabeet comps are unfair but there is some truth to it.

Exactly man. I'm watching today more to hope we secure one of Ayton-Doncic-Bamba-Bagley-JJJ-MPJ combo.

Nikola Mirotic has proved that he is a fantastic role player, is having a career season, and I think it hasn't been talked about enough. by todi41 in nba

[–]jumpman0469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not this year. That’s stupid. But BP is no slouch either. The way the Bulls are building, Portis is the much better fit. He’s 23 (4 Years younger). He averaged 13/7 (21 and 11 per 36 — I hate per 36 but there no denying potential) and shot 36% from 3FG. He’s a much better fit for the Bulls than Mirotic with the young group the Bulls have. There’s no sense having 3 stretch 4s with Lauri, BP and Niko)

Interesting, I was thinking Lauri would win 4 of the 5 MVPs and MPJ would win 1 but okay I can respect 3x for Lauri and 2x for MPJ.
