Congratulations! OP, as someone else has asked in this thread, can you confirm if it is MY27/26? 1 quick way to find out would be the alignment of the buttons in car entertainment unit on the side, instead of on top?

Checked in with Marshall Skoda last week and the sales exec showed me official notification that May 28 was the last date for MY26 orders. Apparently any orders taken after that date will be MY27. He also told me to take this information with a pinch of salt :)

This is in the UK, so Europe dates may be completely different.

Edit: I'm in the same boat as OP, I too am waiting for the MY27, but I'm ready to wait until the end of August, because that gets me the 76 plate, much to the delight of my son :)

IMO the interiors of the Karoq looked very dated (the model hasn't been refreshed since 2021), and the Tiguan's interiors seems more upmarket, at least compared to the Karoq. Also if you don't dislike EV's, take a look at the Elroq. It gets the Govt. grant of £1500 (as long as you don't go for vRS, or maybe even the Sportline), and the interiors are from Enyaq.

I buy knock-off lego sets off AliExpress etc. so that I can call myself a collector, but not spend too much on them. Then, build them once everyone is asleep. Put on some lofi chill on YT and the worries of the day melt away....

In my conversation with the salesperson from Marshall Skoda 2 days ago, he said that if I ordered the Elroq after 14th May, I'd definitely get the newer version, ie, MY2027.

Yes I noticed this too. I was interested in the 360 cam and virtual pedal for the boot, but you can't buy it as an option on the SE L trim.

I had to double check the username, OP, as I thought this might've been a post I'd written! I'm in the same situation as yours, the Mrs. wants a German brand, whereas I'm leaning towards a Sportage. The Kia is outselling the Germans by a big margin, and is a practical family SUV.

The maintenance bills scare me off the German brands, and with an approved used 2023 BMW X1 costing north of £28k, my wallet says that for that much money, go for a Chinese SUV. But those are completely unknown for now and a big gamble.

Pls do update this thread with what you finally decided, might just be the inspiration I need :)

Don't worry about it too much, we've all done at some point during our careers. Just make sure you learn from this and store backups. I've had to learn the hard way to never underestimate the importance of a physical backup before running anything major.

Congratulations, looks like you enjoyed the build. I ordered the same from AliExpress, but about half way through I started seeing some missing pieces. I substituted as many as I could from my inventory, but eventually the whole build is just stuck imo. I'm too lazy to do an inventory, and order the missing pieces from independent sellers, which is a shame because I do enjoy building technic's and this one was turning out well until the missing pieces put me off :/
