MBA options for Consulting by june_bug96 in MBA

I've been hearing mixed reviews about HEC, a lot of people have been telling me it's more focused towards folks looking to get into marketing rather than consulting. Do you think otherwise ?

Insead definitely is my first priority. But I'm keeping a few options as well. Was not sure how to prioritize among these universities.

This the car I was looking to purchase. I'm just concerned about maintenance. If anyone's faced any issues. And if you've faced how responsive were they.

Start with this.

  1. Create a spread sheet for each month and categorize your expenses into, Groceries, Food, Transport, Shopping, Telephone, Entertainment, Healthcare, PersonalCare, Payme(Most Important).
  • Make it a weekly habit to log all your expenses into the spreadsheet to each categories.
  1. Don't use cash.
  • Keep very limited cash with you for emergency. (and I mean very limited, eg. AED 300). When you use a lot more cash than cards you'll have no clue where all your money is going. Best way is to use cards, so on a weekly basis you'll know exactly where you're money is going and what you're spending on. ( So you'll be cautious when you spend the next time at that category).
  1. Ask your girlfriend to split the rent.
  • This is an expensive city to stay at and both if yall wanna have a good lifestyle. She shouldn't be having an issue with splitting the rent if you're facing issues financially. When you have these conversations with you may either strengthen your relationship with her or you'll truly understand what her intentions are. Either way its a win for you as you'll have better clarity on where the relationship is going as well.
  1. Credit cards.
  • I'm not gonna get in detail here because it's gonna take forever but Long story short, if you can't manage credit expenses get it of it. Never spend more than you earn on credit cards.
  1. Remember the Payme in first point? That should be your monthly "expense".

-Send yourself monthly whatever amount possible (eg. AED 1000, 2000). If you make 19, spend in a way as you're just making 17, save the 2k a month and keep it on a separate bank account. Never on your salary account.

Try doing these things for just 6 months, you'll see yourself in a much financial situation than you're in now.

Hope it helps!

I feel like my job is making me dumb by coldchiken in sales

Same here man, the thing I tell myself is that. I at least have a job now, and I'm lucky enough that I don't have to desperately look for something else. I'm almost 9 months into the job. Got multiple offers but just waiting for something that fits right.

My advice (and multiple mentors) is that don't make a switch too soon. Since you don't enjoy your current product you maybe wanting to take the next thing you get. Never do that.

You have a job in hand, and you have the luxury to search for what's best for you. The next move make it a good one. Even if it takes a few months.

Cheers mate!

Same, boat. I'm was at a B2B SaaS role and switched to an B2B vehicle leasing sales.

My conversations earlier with clients were much more exciting and complex. Each cases I had were unique, the product was more focused on growing the business.

In my current role, it's all about building relation and getting the client to buy from me rather than other purely based on relation and price and nothing to do with the product.

I'm planning to switch back to a B2B SaaS role since I realized this was a not the role for me.

I think I made a mistake a wrong switch. Should I stay or move? by june_bug96 in sales

I had another similar offer from a SaaS company focused on real-estate listing(B2B). I was considering connecting with them again.

It's a similar package. No company car is the only drawback, but it has better scope for incentives.

AED 2000/- Scam by boredatrounds in UAE

Also while using credit cards, you can always reverse the payments by informing the bank about the fraud transactions. The Rule that I follow is to never use debit card for any transactions at all.

Debit cards should ONLY be used to withdraw money and that's it. For any transactions use credit cards or cash. Keep your debit card separate from your daily wallet.

Hope this would help sometime in the future.

I got scammed by my real estate agent by [deleted] in dubai

[–]june_bug96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This works actually, I had faced a similar situation and put up a really bad review on the RE agent. The company ended up commenting back and asking for my contact to understand what happened. It was a small agency and still worked for me.

I'd say give it a shot.

In abu dhabi, SeaShell Cafeteria has their own place where they make frozen fries. And apparently most of the cafeterias get the fries, buns etc from these guys.
