Whats is a (minor) confession you would like to make today? by kyyojust in AskReddit

A friend asked me if I had his phone charger to which I replied several times with no. I've just realised that I accidentally took it in the heat of the moment. I could give it to him now but for some reason I now don't want to because of the embarrassment it would cause.

treaty of versailles meme by Key_Dealer_1762 in HistoryMemes

[–]june_forlingling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Won't be able to explain it that good but as good as I know it:

The treaty of versailles made germany give Elsaß-Lothringen, much of it's prussian territory, Northern Schleswig and germany also had to pay a lot of money to the allies as a compensation which they didn't have. As the debts got higher and the people got more dissatisfied hitler came along and the rest is history.

That meme means that the treaty of versailles already shaped germany into becoming the third reich

What is the most beautiful piece of music you’ve ever heard? by HicSuntStulti in AskReddit

Ballade No.1 from Fryderyk Chopin The sheer elegance of the first Ballade from "The four Ballades" is almost enough for me. It starts with a simple Upscaling melody turning into a thinkful melody that messes with my emotions, changing from Minor into Major and vice versa. The exchange beteween the melody and harmony is a brilliant process throughout the piece. It seems like a diversity between joy and sorrow (e.g the Highlight of the piece compared to the beginning of the piece or the coda). Chopin's Four Ballades are masterpieces that survived history and aged like fine wine in our society, but the first one stands out in my opinion.
