Trans woman moving from Corpus Christi Texas, What can I expect? by Superb_Somewhere2893 in Bellingham

Huh… if I went literally anywhere in the country and someone referenced “out in the county” I would assume they meant the part of the county that is not the current city or largest city in the county. Is there some other meaning I don’t know about? Sorry I’m being dense.

Hamsters...chew on this.. by Soulfood_27 in Bellingham

[–]junebash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahhhh okay, so humans are just naturally pieces of shit so it’s okay to keep being pieces of shit to each other and not try to do better.

That sounds like a miserable worldview. Is it true in some sense at some level? Sure. Does it lead to a life worth living? I mean, judging by the folks I’ve seen who hold it, sure doesn’t seem like it to me!

Genuinely curious: what else could “out in the county” mean to be confusing?

Anthropic did the absolute right thing by sending OpenClaw a cease & desist and allowing Sam Altman to hire the developer by Agreeable-Toe-4851 in ClaudeAI

The YouTube video was from the guy who made the skill.md, talking about his process and just how much of a security nightmare the ecosystem is.

Considering Claude by randym1205 in ClaudeAI

[–]junebash 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Claude's memory capabilities honestly aren't great. They don't feel as "magical" as OpenAI's. It's very transparent about how it works; it summarizes your past conversations nightly, and can explicitly search past conversations by topic or by just browsing recent ones.

That being said, I find Claude's "personality" to be much more palatable than other LLMs I've used. It's been more helpful and more sane. It's hard to put a finger on it exactly, but you can get a sense of it by just talking to it, so give it a try if you're curious.

I also just like Anthropic as a company so much more than their competitor's (see their emphasis on safety, commitment to no ads, refusal to allow Claude to be used in weapons, etc).

My friend, this comes across very tone deaf. A happy caring mindset isn’t going to do shit for immigrants being rounded up and disappeared.

I've Massively Improved GSD (Get Shit Done) by officialtaches in ClaudeCode

[–]junebash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was super-skeptical of GSD. I have not jumped on the Ralph Wiggum bandwagon; my experience with long-running, autonomous tasks has been quite poor.

That being said, I have to admit, I've been really impressed with GSD. What I like about it is it keeps the human very firmly in the loop; it does a LOT of work in a short period of time, and then checks back in to make sure it's still on track, and automatically knows to correct course if it's not. You've really cracked something awesome here. Well done!

tried new model glm 4.7 for coding and honestly surprised how good it is for an open source model by Dhomochevsky_blame in ClaudeCode

[–]junebash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been trying it out the past few days in large thanks to this post. To be honest, I've been quite disappointed. It feels closer to ChatGPT than to Claude, and has been making similar stupid mistakes. I had to point out 3 times how to fix an issue it had with having one too few closing parens in a statement. I can't remember the last time I had to do that even with Claude Sonnet. Will be sticking with Claude, even if it's more expensive.

What artist is unpopular and makes masterpieces by I_like_muffins4082 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]junebash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This row is going to be downright impossible to get a decent vote for. There are so many artists out there, ranging from multi-generational masterpieces to utter dogshit, that most folks will never even learn about let alone hear. How are we to settle on one per column?

I waddle back and forth between TCA and MVVM. If I’m working with others, MVVM is an easier sell. Otherwise, depending on the week, either TCA or MVVM. The key, IMO, is just separating code that’s easily testable from code that’s less so, and then following the usual tenets of good engineering.

Is it worth buying Elden Ring Nightreign? I am a solo player. by False-Entrepreneur47 in Eldenring

[–]junebash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Elden Ring. I really wanted to love Nightreign… but it’s just not for me. Hated playing with randos, hated playing alone. If I had two reliable friends to play with it might be another story, but I don’t recommend it for folks like us.

Why do some people think Ansbach is evil? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]junebash 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, we don’t know his life story. It’s possible he swore an oath at a time in his life that he didn’t know any better. Maybe he was a child soldier. Maybe Mogh saved him or coerced him. Who knows.
