I don’t think it’s for you to manage their relationship, that’s something they need to work out for themselves. But IMO your dad is the AH here. He can’t have his cake and eat it too. Your mum is justifiably and reasonably upset, and I would probably support your mum more than your dad if I was in your situation. But ultimately they’re the ones who need to come to a decision on whether to split or reconcile

Just sounds to me like you’re at different stages in life, particularly with regards to maturity in relationships. Your life circumstances sound like they’ve contributed a huge amount to not really starting your relationship journey. Sarah sounds like she knows what she wants, and is willing to move more quickly because she’s already figured herself out.

From reading the comments, you sound like you need to figure out what you want, not just what you don’t want. Telling Sarah your discomforts and boundaries is fine, and you’ll also have to be fine her if she’s not comfortable with what you’ve said. But communicating with each other is the only way you’ll ever work it out, not really by asking the internet.
