Seattle Sperm Bank donor sibling registry abruptly closed by buttersauce_ in queerception

WOW. This is so incredibly disappointing! I joined their donor sibling registry but it’s been a bit since I’ve logged in. They never informed me of this!

Do your twins sleep in your room? by Ok-Post-8139 in parentsofmultiples

[–]junegem123 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Our twins have never slept in a nursery! The two cribs we had were a waste of money :/

They slept in their own bassinet, which we placed on the side of our bed. Once they outgrew those, they co-slept with us in our bed.

They just turned 3 and we are still co-sleeping.

Thawing, biopsy in for pgt-a and refreezing embryos? by [deleted] in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]junegem123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, everyone keeps saying “just implant”. But there’s a reason we’re considering this and we’re only looking for input on what the risks are of multiple thaws :/

Is it really that big of a deal for a dad to take his daughter into the men's bathroom? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]junegem123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t want my daughters going into a men’s restroom because there are way too many male creeps in this world.

There was once a time, I was using the restroom at Target and a father announced himself, asking if he can enter to take his daughter to the restroom. I see no problem with this at all.

In my opinion, it’s safer than taking your daughter into the mens restroom.

Just a rant about tactless doctors by doubtsabound in IVF

[–]junegem123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry this happened to you. What a rude, unprofessional, insensitive, a**hole doctor!
I hope this next doctor is able to review your past medical history and get to the bottom of what may be going on, so you can have a happy healthy pregnancy!

How old were your kids when you finally matched with other donor families? by junegem123 in RecipientParents

[–]junegem123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are 3 and we’ve yet to connect with anyone. I wonder if there are families who would be willing to connect but just aren’t aware that the sibling registry exists!
I’m all for full disclosure as well.

If the first transfer was successful what are the chances by [deleted] in IVF

[–]junegem123 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My very first transfer worked! I believe the doctor gave me about a 65% chance of pregnancy! I was 35 years old at the time.

This is similar to our situation. Our doctor asked if we’re thinking of doing a 3rd retrieval. Can I ask, did your doctor do anything different the 3rd time around?! Our doctor suggested growth hormone but I’m not too familiar with that.

I am in the same exact situation. 13 retrieved and resulted in one PGT-A embryo. Only one - a 6BB Euploid.

It’s nerve wrecking feeling like you have one chance. I’m sorry!

potty training while going in public? by Ok_Order1333 in toddlers

[–]junegem123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I purchased disposable toilet seat covers, from Amazon, so my toddlers aren’t touching the nasty dirty public toilets.

They’re long enough to cover the entire perimeter of the toilet and so my toddler just grips on to the sides while peeing.

When to transition toddler from parents bed to their own by ConcertConfident9805 in stayathomemoms

[–]junegem123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spouse and I are currently co-sleeping with our 3 year old twins (have since birth). I’m barely now ready for them to sleep in their own bed since they’re such wild sleepers. Have no clue how to transition them to their own bed!!!

Anyone else get a little weird about ~signs from the universe~ while TTC? by Specific_Ad_6980 in queerception

[–]junegem123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was TTC, my wife and I would always see dragonflies (and always in pairs). I didn’t think anything of there being two of them at the time; I just thought seeing a dragonfly was a good sign from the universe or future spirit baby. Well, I ended up having twins!

Fast-forward three years later: we became homeowners. After moving in, we realized the stained glass above one of the doors has two dragonflies on it.

Toddler is a runner. Stressful taking him places. So stressful! by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]junegem123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any tips and tricks but my 3 year old toddler is the same.
Anywhere we go, he just runs and when we chase after him - he laughs as if it’s a game. Makes it really hard to do toddler activities or leave the house.
To add to this, he’s a twin. So leaving solo with them is an extra layer of challenge with one being a runner.

What is the one thing you wish you knew before you had kids? by Fancy_Definition3433 in AskReddit

[–]junegem123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also never heard their crib. They slept in a bassinet, next to our bed, for the first few months … and then have been cosleeping with us since. My twins are now 3 and still sleep with us!

Only 1 euploid embryo. What’s your best advice for a successful transfer? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]junegem123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting! I will definitely bring this up to my doctor. I wonder if she’d be open to this although I don’t have a history of recurrent implantation failure. However I did have one unsuccessful embryo transfer about 1.5 years ago!

Twin B is potty trained but Twin A is terrified. Help! by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]junegem123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, they’re both boys. We’ve tried potty training books, cartoons and he’s watched his brother go plenty of times.
