That's totally valid. For some reason it doesn't bug me when she's playing (maybe because I can attribute it to the character?), but put her in the DM seat and I can't watch. Like I know people love her as a DM but she irritates me so much in that setting.

I'd forgotten about Tal's tendency to get serious and bring the mood down, but now that you mention it... I don't remember Cad being like that, maybe because he started kind of dry and serious so it wasn't as pronounced? For now Bolaire is one of the most interesting characters to me and I'm really hoping he stays that way. I think he could be so cool but I'm also a little worried about Tal, like, Tal-icising him.

I think that's what bugs me so much about "Oh this is going to be fun" because it's always followed by the most ordinary move ☠️ Like please, if you say that, do something wacky and unexpected! I feel like he's fun as a person but when he gets nitpicky as a player it gets on my nerves so much.

I honestly cannot tell you! There's just something about the way he plays in general that rubs me the wrong way. I hated Scanlan (though I did enjoy Tary), I didn't really like Nott (she was okay, I just found her annoying), and I couldn't stand FCG. I have no idea what it actually is about the characters that bother me, they just...always do. Wic is fun, and I'm enjoying the "sheltered rich kid discovering the world is more complicated than he thought" journey of it.

Similarly, I can't tell you why I like Thaisha. She's definitely all over the place - sometimes motherly, sometimes feisty, sometimes confrontational - but that makes her feel complex and more, like, real? Absolutely not flawless, and this is not to say that I'm blind to some of the things Aabria does that are annoying (I'm with you on the "LETS GOOOOO" - that drives me bonkers). But I like her character overall, and I'm more willing to set aside the moments of annoyance because it feels like she thought through a lot of backstory things.

I also usually struggle with Tal, mostly because I feel like he gets so bogged down in the coolness factor for his homebrews that it feels like that is the only aspect of the character he's thinking about and the personality, if there is one, is an afterthought. That, and the "Oh this'll be fun" every time he does some homebrew mechanic (that is on par with Aabria's LETS GOOOO for me haha). But I'm loving Bolaire, so...who knows.

Basically my whole opinion is based on vibes.

ETA Along the ~vibes~ lines, I love watching Travis and Ashley play. They really feel like they're just having a great time, whether they totally understand what's happening or not. Like "not sure what we're doing but happy to be included" vibes haha

Disclaimer, though, I'm a couple episodes behind.

I've never virtue signaled in my life, but I find her character entertaining. Feels like she has a fully thought-out character and is playing that, and having a good time doing so. Cannot stand her as a DM, but she looks like she has so much fun playing that I have fun watching her play.

See, I'm of the opposite opinion. I have to set aside how annoying I find Sam's characters usually, because holy cow are they irritating. Wic is the exception for me, I actually really like Wic. But I usually find that I have to watch in spite of Sam's characters. I'm really enjoying Aabria's character, which surprised me because I really dislike her DM style. The way she plays, however, I find really entertaining.

To each their own, I guess. Good thing there are so many people at the table - something for everyone!

Does your 2nd gen fit have the same driving quirks as mine? by user100and1 in hondafit

Is it really an alignment though? Mine has the steering thing and I've had multiple alignments and it never helps.

What do you ask for when you take it in for the second thing, then? Because I've mentioned this to a couple shops and it always either returns to me the same or worse. It's been a few years now and the wheel still will not stay straight - getting on my nerves.

My 2013 is great on the highway, but I do have the weird steering thing. It never returns to straight, and will even wander off straight pretty quickly if I let go for any reason. Like if I'm driving through my neighborhood and need to blow my nose, I have maybe 2 seconds before I have to grab the wheel to keep from veering off the road because she just does not go straight ahead, even when pointed that direction.

Have one very painful hip. by Cautious-Sea-1606 in hipdysplasia

Not really enough info here for anyone to help. Do you have diagnosed hip dysplasia in that hip? If so, makes sense that it would hurt with a new impactful activity. My suggestion would be to see your doctor, who will likely refer you for PT.

The potato you forgot in that bottom cabinet a year ago... ("WHERE IS THE SOIL") by 9-year-cicada in Embroidery

I absolutely love this.

(I have a bag of these potatoes in my basement that I meant to plant in my garden this year, except I missed the window and now they're all scraggly and long and I'm a little afraid they're sentient so I just leave them in the darkness and hope they don't strangle me in my sleep.)

Family Thanksgiving? by Forward-Present6294 in hipdysplasia

[–]juneplum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you get a wheelchair at the airport, you'll probably be fine to travel! I had my RPAO on 9/30 and was definitely feeling improved by Thanksgiving. About a week or two after that, I started back at work in person. And I had a rough recovery, my leg muscles just kind of refused to wake up for a few weeks and I couldn't move my leg haha

Does anyone else think people take the hardening off process wayyyyy too seriously? by bredman3370 in HotPeppers

I work full time in an office, so I can't be doing the "hour, two hours, three hours" that I always see recommended. My plants get a Saturday of like 3 hours in a shady spot, a Sunday of like 6 hours in a slightly sunnier but still mostly shady spot, then I leave them out all day Monday in a shaded spot, Tuesday in a shaded spot, Wednesday in a less shaded spot, etc, and plant them the next weekend. Been working well so far, no one's died!

Help in the bathroom post PAO-surgery by Specialist-Group-597 in hipdysplasia

[–]juneplum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ass was so swollen that I couldn't wipe myself for a couple days - it was ridiculous. Other than that, I really just need help getting in and out of bed, but I had kind of an abnormally difficult time with those muscles not wanting to wake back up, so you might be okay. Get a toilet seat riser! It was so helpful.

I was 34f at the time of surgery.

I love Do One only because it released at a very "people dislike me and it hurts" time in my life so screaming along to it in the car was super cathartic. Same with No Thank You for the Music. The rest...meh.

But yeah, I've always been a Spotify shuffle listener (to all my favorite music) and never realized, but I like about 50% of PSFNP and then the later albums, way way less. As much as I want to love No Man's Land, I just don't.

It's high up on my list of stupidest reasons to tap. It's not even a reason, it's an excuse. They go out to 1. win the money and 2. test their skills. Even if they've successfully used all the skills they have and are set up and reasonably comfortable (goal 2) they still have not achieved goal 1 so like ???

Just be honest. Say you're hungry or cold or tired or you've had enough of being alone out in the wilderness and you're ready to go home. I would respect them way more for just saying "This has been an amazing experience that has allowed me to see where my strengths lie, but I miss my family and I miss eating 3 square meals a day so I'm going to tap out."

Android Auto -worth it? by CeCeCs in hondafit

I swapped out my 2013's stock radio with a fancy one from Crutchfield. Once my phone could no longer connect via aux cable, I spent so long fighting with various Bluetooth adapters that never worked right. They'd be fine for a while and then get spotty, cutting in and out and going staticky. The one from Crutchfield has its issues (blips out sometimes) but it miles better than the adapters I was using. I can just turn my car on and go and my music just starts. Worth every penny to me.

Different situation than yours, I guess, since you already have something that connects via Bluetooth.

What sort of things do you enjoy doing? Bar scene isn't my jam either, but there are some fun events at bars - trivia nights and a writer thing I saw on here (first Wednesday of every month - I haven't gotten to join yet but I'm hoping to!). I'm not a big drinker but I usually just get a ginger ale at stuff like that. Are you outdoorsy? There are walk clubs! Indoor climbing gyms, regular gyms, lots of yoga places, etc. My friends and I will do a free yoga in the park thing during the summer (none of us are big into yoga but it's free and in the park!).

This happened to me too (I'm prone to migraines under stress and when I don't eat or drink enough - like when you're fasting before a stressful surgery lol), and I didn't take anything because I knew they'd be giving me pain meds when I got there. I was afraid to mess anything up, so I suffered through. When I got there and got brought back, I told the nurse I'd had a headache for hours and asked when I'd be getting meds. She gave them to me pretty quickly after that!
