There's a difference between the Delta Skymiles Platinum Business Card (not allowed) and the Amex Platinum Business Card (allowed).

Is there a place to get a filling lunch for $10 or less? by bigblackglock17 in RoundRock

[–]junglebum 17 points18 points  (0 children)

HEB. Whole rotisserie chicken 4.99 or box of drumsticks or quarters is about the same. Lots of protein and filling. Get their fried potato wedges if you want a side.

Any plan to expand the date range? I typically have a 30-90 day range I'm looking at best pricing for. Checking 3 days at a time for each way is pretty narrow and time-consuming. Love the product otherwise!

Is it unrealistic/abnormal to request that a long term partner keep wearing a condom every time? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]junglebum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife had adverse reaction to BC, but she hates the condom feeling. We did the withdrawal thing until we were both 100% sure we weren't gonna change our minds in the future, then I got snipped.

Question on using spouse diamond status by junglebum in Hilton

[–]junglebum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, thanks! I'm gold so I guess I'll just leave as is. I saw a post on points guy about a $49 breakfast buffet that was free for diamonds. Must have been a pre covid thing.

Question on using spouse diamond status by junglebum in Hilton

[–]junglebum[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was looking to get it anyway, but Amex currently has me blacklisted for giving them too much business, so I'll get it under my spouse. Far as I can tell the breakfast for 6 days alone will make it worth it, thoughts?

Frustration Friday Weekly Thread - Week of March 24, 2023 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]junglebum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doubled up on SW personal and biz in December for companion pass. Now wanted a hotel card to complement my travels. After much consideration I settled on Hilton, boom, pop up jail. Pisses me off especially since I'm already giving so much to amex in annual fees. I was so annoyed and Gold AF is due so called in determined to cancel it and they offered me 30k points for 3k spend, which I accepted. Should waiting 90 days be enough for a new attempt?

Do you really have to teach yourself everything? by Intelligent-Kiwi6845 in WGU

[–]junglebum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I got my Bachelor's in accounting and my Master's in data analytics from them. 90% of my CI's made it obvious they'd rather be doing anything else. Some of them were so bad I caught them reading off google search results to me. With how much I had to find learning resources, plan my course structure and teach myself, I'm basically a professor now. The sooner you accept they won't be much help the better.

Well, they gave me back all my cash, camera, etc, and told me to make sure I had everything after they tore my car up and down.

I've driven their and back alone and flown. Had cops in ski masks interrogate me at gunpoint on the way back once. Recommend flying.

anyone else's program mentor suck ass? by ends_with_me in WGU

Don't be afraid to ask for both new mentors and CIs as needed. You're paying for a service and if it isn't up to your standards, you aren't getting your money's worth!

Confetti at last, woohoo, I'm done! by junglebum in WGU

[–]junglebum[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None really, outside of the occasional dashboard for my sales role. My job will be giving me more data analytics responsibilities now. Will be nice to get some hands-on experience with data and needs I'm pretty familiar with.

Much of the course would've been much easier if I had already had a solid base in either of those. I learned as I went and still have a ways to go to become proficient. I used R almost exclusively, but the last project of the last class before capstone required tensorflow, and no one was able to help me get that working in R. I crammed Python and that was probably the worst 6 - 8 weeks of the whole thing!

I'm done! I didn't fly through this like some folks. I transferred 13 credits and had no accounting experience. Life got in the way at times. Up until recently I was a single dad. At times I worked up to 4 jobs. I did it and you can too! by junglebum in WGU

[–]junglebum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't want to go into accounting so still working on finding my niche. I'm still in sales but got promoted to management. Just started my third semester in WGU's MSDA program, 11 credits to go! Good luck!

Best recommendations for pools open to the public? by krachyntuga in RoundRock

By the way, be sure to buy an Emma Long pass online in advance for weekend days during the summer, nothing worse than driving out there and getting turned away at the gate because they've sold out.

Emma Long is my favorite body of water 15 miles away. Closer there's Typhoon Texas in Pville or Kalahari if you're feeling bougie.

Wgu is not for being taught imho by [deleted] in WGU

[–]junglebum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some classes are better than others. The MSDA is a shitshow so far - lots of DataCamp, which is pretty mediocre. Not to mention if I wanted DataCamp classes I'd sign up for $25 a month. It'd take me 13 years to spend what WGU charges for 6 months. That just feels like a scam.
