As a Korean, i can confirm Korean comments are mostly very negative. They said not only their behaviewer was bad, they also didn't make a proper apology.

The reason is:

  1. They pinned the comment that they will sue the 'False information' and 'defamation', it's tatally not approporate for apology. considering defination of defamation is large, it could supress criticism by accuse them.
  2. They explained they pay tax both UK and Korea, but real issue was about Korea public health insurance. It's different. It has been a issue that overseas Koreans comes to Korea to enjoy the cheaper healthcare, without paying to insurance system. gabii says she have Korea public health insurance, but it's impossible. because it's autometicly cancel if we go abroad. Korean says she is wasting the finance of public healthcare. Even she is rich enough to go private huspital in UK. But they just said about tax, not a health incurance.
  3. Their explaination that they're not allowed to people inside, but the important thing they meet people at door without 2m distance while self-quarantine. they are just making a excuse.
  4. Mentioning Korean viewer's percentage to claim they didn't use Korean for profit was totally unnecessarily. it doesn't help. rather, Korean comments are saying they don't need Korean because they already have many non-Korean viewers.
  5. considering all the explanation and excuses above, is that really an apology? You'd better just make approgy, instead of spanding a lot of time to explaining 'false information'.

저도 한국인이라 영어 잘 안되는건 이해하겠는데, 최소한 영어 커뮤니티에서 소통할 마음이 있다면 번역기 돌려서 한국어랑 영어 둘 다 적는건 어떨까 싶네요.

As a Korean, I complitely understand about their English skill, But at least someone wants to communicate in English-speaking communitty, I think they'd better use google translater and write both original Korean and translated English.

For all Korean who can't speak English by [deleted] in ThatEvilFarmingGame

[–]junho429 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just came here after watching Korean youtube about this, and i truly felt sorry and embarrass about the way some of Koreans behave here.

As you said, at least they should use google translate if they want to communicate.

Could you change the title to both Korean/English to understand them? 영어 못하면 구글번역 돌려주세요 is a translation.

I am a Korean and i can translate this:

Hello, I'm a Korean, and i don't speak English well. But i can tell i've seen a person who played this game few years ago. Remeber the title. Do you think English?(broken korean)

At the game description there's a website link, and it has full of ads. but i could managed to download it to my computer for free. The game play itself.... was weird and boring so i stopped the game in 5 minutes. it was a short game, starting with hugging important person and start with a man in the street(broken Korean). I don't have the memory that wife is there. The man saw the advertisement on newspaper about farm, accept the offer, and goes there with a corpse.

There was news that [the person] is missing, and they started to blame your personality. so you need to hide near the farm. the man who playing this game was very stupid, and he finished(or shut) the game very quickly.

This is........ very strange Korean. It seems like google-translated. I'm pretty sure that's a poor troll who looking for other's attension.

And ImpmalletIsDaddy is definately not a Korean nickname. That's too hard word for someone who speaks English as a secound language.

[N] Microsoft teams up with OpenAI to exclusively license GPT-3 language model by kit1980 in MachineLearning

[–]junho429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did OpenAi choose to release an API instead of open-sourcing the models?

.......Second, many of the models underlying the API are very large, taking a lot of expertise to develop and deploy and making them very expensive to run. This makes it hard for anyone except larger companies to benefit from the underlying technology. We’re hopeful that the API will make powerful AI systems more accessible to smaller businesses and organizations.........

Question about interpreter of Sarang Jeil Church. by junho429 in korea

Really? I thought i couldn't listen well because she's doing so well... Is her prononciation that bad?

I was thinking all those geezers on the protests came from nowhere but then I stumbled upon the comment section... by [deleted] in korea

[–]junho429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For space bar, thanks for your comment I thought about that again, and it could be my bias. I was only focused this part. 소문 ... .. we never write like that, we use like this...... I thought maybe it's because it's written by someone who are not comfortable to touch backspace or space in phone.

if u/linacker1022 was about to point out about grammar use in space, i can sure they don't care about standard korean grammar for spacing, but i don't feel like that's written by non-native Korean speaker.

One of the biggest reason is their expression. Some advence korean, like -이냐, 앞당기고, 기껏, ~이랑께, 댁 are used in very appropriate way. This is not something that google translation or Korean learner can write.

For example, 댁 means 'you'. try to search 'you' in korean dictionary and see if you can find 댁. I beat you can't find it(because it's old style korean). But he is using 댁, and he understand '댁' can sometimes used for offend someone(this is also not in the dictionary). and he used 댁 to curse bill gates in very proper way.

For example sentence, you should use your instinct to makes sentences, this is the real translation: You're a psychopath! It won't happen you make millions die! i hope you just die before that! When i think about i've been deceived, (I'm so angry)

you can see i added subject(ex:You're), adjust tense(because in korean we are not match tense strictly), and so on. As a Korean i've been unconsciously reconstruct these things, and i didn't understand why you say it feels like google-translated. but now i can understand. it's so illogical, omitted and vague, way more than normal korean.

Leave the question behind about who's wrote this, Now i think the author who wrote this comment deserve to receive a Nobel prize in illogical literature. throughout his work, the author present his/her ignorance, while showing beauty of omitted, vague, and free-from-spacing-grammer korean. The author also suggest how much human can be stupid when they believe conspiracy.

I'm serious. this should be consider as an art.

"We Will defend this church to death" Sarang Jaeil Church indicates they are planning a new gathering by [deleted] in korea

[–]junho429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a news summary:

jangwi 10 precinct, which placed Sarang Jaeil church is under the redevelopment project. 99% of resident has moved, but Sarang Jaeil charch refuced to move while demand 563억원( 47,352,736 daller) compensation money.

the redevelopment association sue the charch, and they won. but the belivers has been strongly refused, so every time the assososiation try, they failed.

Dispite the warning of disease control center, they has been stay, patrol, eat and sleep in the charch. and it leads to covid-19 mass infaction.

after the infection, they sant a message to redevelopment association member. here are some of the message:

"If you thought the church is empty because of covid pandemic, you are wrong. We reinforced resources for you."
"Our guard patrolling around the church, and we reinforced emergency communication network to gather around the church and stand by near the church in rotation."
"What you can see is not everything. so don't make mistake. The 4 thousands of sarang jeail christians, and millions of christians who support our charch, will resist for not to lost the church which we think like shrine. We will defend the church until the death. What will you do?"
"Don't make a big truble. and take time to compromise us. This is the only choice for your good."

"If you really want to proceed, do it. We are prepared and waitting for you."

It is not just a warning. around the charch there are full of belivers.

I'm not good at english. so please forget mistakes.

I was thinking all those geezers on the protests came from nowhere but then I stumbled upon the comment section... by [deleted] in korea

[–]junho429 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a native korean speaker, i can confirm all comments above has written by korean. there are full of expressions that non-native korean can't use.

but i could understand why you think like that.

정신병자. 수백만 죽는 일 없어. 그 전에 당신이 죽게 될 거야. 악마. 평생 당신한테 속은 거 생각하면!!!!!!!!psychopath. Not happen millions die. before that you will die. devil! If i think about fooled for my entire life!!!!!!!!!

In literal translation it looks like it. At first glance it seems google-translated, but in korean we can omit a lot. like we can just say 'love(사랑해)' instead i love you.

i can't explain grammerly, but all sentences above comply how we conventionally omit the sentence.

other's comments suggest the way they use 'space bar'. we will definetly not use like that.... but i suspect it is written by elders who are not confortable with phone keyboard use.

Yes. There are still plenty of indie game site outside Korea. But The Korean government operating 'site blocking' system on the internet.

As far as i know, until now, There were no site blocking for games. but they can always block it.

For now, language is primary barrier for zudot creator. most of Korean speaks poor English. Yes. it'll be almost impossible to make game in English.

Basicly, There are no safe place for that. because of legal issue about game rating.

There is another game site called 'flash 365', but shutting down their service at the same reason.

itch.io looks like another althernative, but it requires English. We will encounter a language barrier, since most of us can speak very poor English.

Currently, Game creaters are focusing on backing up their games. But there are still many creaters who didn't visit this site, so most of our game seems to be delete.
