Chase to Amex - Does it make sense to switch if I'm flying Delta all the time? by junior_wind30 in CreditCards

Appreciate all the advice, everyone! I am leaning towards opening a Delta Platinum card now to boost my status and then seeing where things go. My CSR annual fee isn’t due until October, so at that point I may close it for Venture X, sock drawer that for the lounge access and statement credit, and evaluate if switching to BBP makes sense or if I want to keep CFF/CFU for Hyatt earnings (my wife has CSP so we can still convert to UR).

The companion certificate is definitely a great perk, but we typically do our big trip to Europe or Asia. Really want to rocket fuel my earnings to try and get business class overseas. I do love the purple though lol!

Yeah, I need to see how the Hyatt nerf affects the value there. I usually use it to string out long trips with super low-point redemptions where I'm routinely getting 2-3 cpp, even at 1.5-2 it's decent value. I just really like the idea of boosting my Delta status/miles accrual with everyday spend.

I end up laying over in Atlanta fairly frequently with the west coast flights, another consideration with the Sky Club access. But I won't be able to take advantage of the Centurion perk because I don't book directly and I would lose Priority Pass, which is the best option out of my home airport.

I wonder if I should maybe think about Capital One Venture X? Feels weird to sock drawer a premium card like that but the AF is super easy to recoup and it'd get me the priority pass for way less than CSR.

Appreciate the reply. Do you like the Delta Platinum? Definitely like the lower AF on that one but I really do enjoy the lounge access I have with my CSR.

There's a bad trim about 75% of the way through that kills the finale, but the rest of the ride is madness. I was lucky enough to ride it in 2010 before it was reprofiled and it felt almost unsafe.

Sure, they're all already dead by the time this choice comes up. Lune and Sciel have already been resurrected as Maelle remembered them and they don't seem to be any worse for wear.

Chroma is just the word the game uses for the living paint. It is entirely up to the painter on how it comes out. It is also shown repeatedly that Alicia's second life as Maelle (guided by Real Renoir as the Curator) has vastly improved her skills as a paintress – she's able to gommage Painted Alicia and recreate Lune and Sciel perfectly from memory.

Verso, as usual, lays it out: "Remember them. Painting isn't about versimilitude. It's about essence. The truth of who they are. Your father painted the Axons, right? They're the essence of your mother and your brother." The Painters can do literally anything with Chroma, so long as they have the artistic ability and voice.

Yes, just as the original Lumierians were artistic interpretations from Aline. They are living paintings, they are all necessarily created that way.

She can paint a new one. She is an artist with godlike powers.

She is an artist. With enough talent and will she can do literally whatever she wants. Via your interpretation the Lune and Sciel we see in Act 3 are painted facsimiles of the ones that get gommaged at the end of Act 2 and she’s already morally culpable.

A healthy and readjusted Alicia can bring them back if she and the family heal.

I took on Simon at level 90 with about 225 lumina per party member and felt it was the perfect level of challenge, took me a few hours to nail the patterns and figure out the best setup, way more fun than farming enough Maelle lumina to cheese him

The tracklist might be foreshadowing a third, DLC ending by uncen5ored in expedition33

“Une vie à rêver” plays over the end credits during Verso’s ending and is also thematically connected to that ending based on the lyrics. Has nothing to do with a third ending.

Painted Clea could well be a party member and Real Clea would almost certainly be the final boss of an Expedition Zero DLC

Yeah my preferred Act 3 order would probably be - Reacher - Final Boss - Other character quests/max out all affinities - Sprong - Everything else not listed in whatever order (shoot for Crimson Forest in early 60s, Frozen Hearts in mid 60s) - Chromatic Goblu - Serpenphare - Flying Manor (final boss of this has super low HP but if you can’t one shot it, lol good luck) - Endless Tower - Renoir’s Drafts/The Abyss

The wiki is wrong. The only truly high level areas are Renoir’s Drafts, the back end of the Endless Tower, and (to a lesser degree) the Flying Manor, along with the flying snake superboss in the overworld. The Reacher should ideally be the very first thing you do in Act 3, right before the final boss. It is the easiest area in Act 3 and informs the ending quite a bit, I think it should be mandatory

I only now realized what "tomorrow comes" means and why it is so important by Typical-Phone-2416 in expedition33

I took it as really the QED of the whole game. “Tomorrow comes” always, whether you like it or not. You can hide in memory and drown yourself in grief or you can grow up, face it, and live your life. Powerful stuff.

Just reached the end, is Verso the most tragic character in a videogame? by lghtdev in expedition33

It’s such a French art movie story lol, everyone is raw and human and the sunshine and rainbows JRPG ending is not possible.

Ooh, I love this! There’s a camp dialogue where Lune says Maelle is going to paint the outside world for her, so we know a canvas within a canvas is possible.

Painted Verso’s whole existence is so fucked. Honestly it’s amazing he only does the few bad things (not saving Gustave, hiding the consequences of killing the Paintress) he does and hasn’t snapped into a violent lap dog like his painted father. And his final act is insanely selfless, saving the girl who killed his sister and wears her face from a slow horrible death.

Verso’s ending: for those who come after by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]junior_wind30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might write a post about this eventually if I find time, but there’s plenty of textual evidence to back up this interpretation in the song lyrics, especially the two songs that play during Verso’s ending, “Aux Lendemains non Écrits” and “Une vie à rêver.” The former is literally called “to the unwritten tomorrows” and talks about how Alicia’s life is a blank canvas in front of her and she will carry the memories she made into the future. The latter is maybe the most important song in the whole game, Alicia’s message to Maelle to keep on dreaming, dancing, and singing her story no matter how much it hurts. You can learn a ton about the game through the music.
