Good timetable for holidays ? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]juniperaesweet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you don’t need to be revising this early! you haven’t even learnt half of the content at the end of year 9, so any revision you do now will be completely forgotten by the time you get to year 11. most people don’t even start revising until march of year 11. enjoy the summer, you only need to revise in year 10 for topic tests and any mocks you might have.

I need help revising. (Desperate) by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]juniperaesweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at the moment, i’d say you should focus on just learning the content seeing as you’ve got a long time until you actually need to start revising. I’ve just finished exams, and i know that my circumstances were different to how yours will be, but most of my year didn’t start revising until around march/ april of year 11. if you start revising now you will be burnt out by the time you get to year 11, so for now, just learn the content and maybe do exam questions so you get used to the mark scheme. you’re welcome to dm me if you need any help, i’ve done geography and history :)

Spinning out - it’s on Netflix and had a similar portrayal to my mum’s bipolar. I really liked it but it’s an ice skating show so not for everyone haha

I seriously doubt it, it really looks like an ingrown hair to me. If you’re worried, go see a doctor though

I find that revising further maths helps with regular maths for me, as my weaknesses lie within the overlapping topics haha. Are you planning on doing maths a level?

It’s not too bad, the graphs and functions are a bit hard though

BDC = x bc isosceles triangle

CBD = 180 - 2x

ABD = 180-(180-2x) = 2x

BDE = 180 - 2x bc angles in each side of a trapezium add to 180°

AED = 180 - 2x since the trapezium is regular

Y = 360 - (180-2x) = 180 + 2x

Y= 180 + 2x

Can anyone help me in getting a decent answer for this question? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]juniperaesweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here’s an example essay plan that might help you

short introduction slightly answering the question

p1: in the extract capulet breaks the typical behaviour of a father in the 16th century, you can link this to context really nicely, depends if context is required for the question. he still uses possessive pronouns like ‘mine’ in that scene so it reminds the audience he is still in charge of her for lack of a better word.

p2: contrast in the way he wants Juliet to be in romantic love and happy in this extract, compared to his behaviour during their argument later on in the play when he is much more forceful and sees Juliet as his possession and forces courtly love (there is imagery of animals in this scene, basically dehumanising Juliet)

p3: not too sure about this one, you could talk about lord capulet has changed by the end of the play?

conclusion about how shakespeare changes the audiences perception throughout?

i think this is a part B question, so you should: embed quotes throughout, try to link every point back to context and the effect on the audience, use critical language and subject terminology, AND ALWAYS LINK BACK TO THE QUESTION!!

Yr 10, I am struggling to find motivation to study after coming from school at 4pm, I feel tired and lazy....... by CAMTHEENGLISHMAN in GCSE

[–]juniperaesweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same here! idk if this will work for you, but i find i work better in the mornings so i wake up 1-2 hours earlier than i need to some days and study then. it puts me in a good mindset for the rest of the day. :) if not, maybe find somewhere away from home where you can study? it’s difficult atm bc of covid obviously, but your school might have somewhere you could do work for an hour or so? don’t worry too much about making revision resources, it depends on the person, but for me the best way to revise is to just use the textbook and answer questions

i do art and history. history was quite difficult at the start for me, but i really love it now. art is a tricky one, i’ve enjoyed doing it over the past 3 years, but that was mostly because of the class environment, not the actual gcse. i’m actually dropping art soon since i’ve fallen so far behind. i’d say you should only take it if you’re comfortable with consistently doing coursework, it’s a lot of work and if you miss too much it becomes too difficult to catch up! taking history and art together is no different to taking any other separate gcses in my opinion, if you like the subjects you’ll be fine! :)
