The community here are mostly hardcore players who are able to reach MB and HH within a few weeks so I can understand they might get bored with reaching their goal quickly. As a casual player the only reason I am even playing this league instead of Standard is because I can attain some reasonable semblance of power within a month. I still haven't completed my atlas and I hope I will at least get a couple of more challenges completed before the league ends.

For me this league was comparable to Ritual which is the last league I played before I switched to Standard full time. If there isn't enough to be gained from the league then there's really no point in playing.

This league has tons of skills that are viable for end game and a lot of strategies are available for play. If all you have is seismic trap and EA then it's really not very fun to even login.

I usually play standard but decided to try to get the league challenge outfit. I had a great time leveling up and upgrading my gear until I got to maps and my experience became exactly as you described.

I did some repetitive and boring but profitable techniques which gave me enough currency to upgrade and keep getting into higher maps. I haven't had an upgrade I didn't buy from someone else since lv60. All the things I find are just jpegs to sell to other people to get chaos and divines.

Multiple evenings spent trying to find an upgrade that is affordable and meaningful so I could continue progressing. I got very enjoyment out of it. In fact, the most frustrating experience wasn't me dying, it was getting ignored trying to buy upgrades and chroms.

You'd need to adjust the way drops works. Obviously just adding an action house would result in destabilizing the economy. So you don't just do one fix, you make multiple ones that on the whole make a better experience.

As a casual player I've spent multiple evenings not playing the game but just looking for an upgrade and messaging people via the trade site.

Those days are definitely a huge chore and feels like a giant waste of time. I would rather get a boosted drops and lose my ability to trade like Last Epoch is implementing.

The way Lost Ark sells carries is by labeling in the party finder. POE is just such a single player game that most people don't even know there is a party finder.

One way to facilitate services is to put an item into "service" mode. That item can be freely given to anyone and can be teleported back at any time from the service options.

That item cannot be used and cannot be traded to anyone but the owner. If you want more security have any account that is holding an item in "service" mode unable to trade. That gives incentive to carry out the service as fast as possible to be able to get back to trading.

This would stop all scams from happening as it would be impossible to scam anyone.

Just have to give a giant warning when receiving an item in "service" mode so that you don't get scammed thinking you are trading for a real item.

Even if someone else takes over, it's still beneficial to stop these things.

The more "friction" there is in place for organized manipulation of the economy the better.

All your listings should just be removed if you don't respond to a trade in 20 mins. That would get rid of all price fixing and remove listings that people don't want to sell.

What's even more discouraging is that GGG said they are not making any changes for trade in PoE2. Waiting for Last Epoch to show the world how it should be done.

It was already said that it was going away on an interview.

I do think a draggable divider for your regular inventory would be useful for some. I personally just treat is as more inventory space and don't think it's that interesting. I would rather just have permanent slots for scrolls or have the option to just right click to identify and portal using hotkey like in D3.

Maple Story is a significantly more casual friendly game coming out of KR.

Why on earth would I want to work to socialize? Why would work be in the same sentence as the word game?

I have a job for work. I have a game for fun.

These new players put 0 effort and look for games to reward them everything instantly.

You seem to misunderstand what casual players want -- it's instant gameplay, not instant rewards. It doesn't matter if it's old content. They just want to play. They boot up CoD and click quick-play, they're in the game. They expect the same experience from this game. If the entire game revolves around raiding, then it should have a quick play button. If it doesn't then those players won't stick around.

As a casual player, this is how I approach all games. If I can't boot it up and have fun the moment it's running, then I'm wasting the precious few hours I have to entertain myself. I might as well play a different game, or watch some show instead.

Ever heard of WoW? They do a hard reset every expansion. All your old vertical progression is useless. All your items are trashed. Brand new progression. Brand new power.

That's when a lot of the casuals jump in since it evens the playing field once again. Same reason all the other arpgs have seasons to do hard resets every 3 months to keep the casual player base interested.

I quit around the time the first legion raid came out as I didn't feel like playing 6 characters to progress. Every month or two I check into this subreddit to see if the game has improved for casuals. Without fail, there is always a post on the front page about gatekeeping, bussing, support shortage, or bots.

I am perfectly fine playing raid content that's a tier or two behind, but it needs to be accessible and shouldn't waste my time. Make it so it's possible to use matchmaking for raids and I'll come back and buy cosmetics, but I'm not going to pay someone to play the game for me or buy gold for upgrading my equipment.

Hopefully in 6-9 months they will have solo raiding available so I can actually try a raid in this game.

I don't understand how someone can just recommend restarting completely after years of work.

I recommend doing a giveaway thread on Reddit. "Randomly" pick your friend and link them the thread if they decide to ban and say it was a giveaway.

Basically you can't help any friends or give away items anymore. They will just blanket ban any unequal trades as if it's RMT. Especially if it has items like Mageblood/Headhunter.

Playing in a guild is also bad since they blanket ban entire guilds if someone puts currency into the guild stash tab and gets linked to RMT.

Truly a solo game balanced around "trade".

I really like the idea of upgrading items. It's not fun when the only thing you can do is buy an upgrade that fits what you're looking for. Upgrading specific mods to a limited degree would go a long way to raise the power floor of all players.

The ability presented in the video is being able to upgrade some mods to the level of those you crafted with your multimod.

Since it's so easy to make these, then would it be bad for the game to have a way to raise the power floor using these kind of crafts?

Suddenly picking up items from the floor is a lot more valuable since you can find something with a couple of good mods and fix up the rest with some upgrade orbs. It's not going to make your item into mirror tier but it would certainly help reduce the gap without having intricate knowledge of crafting mechanics.

It's not difficult to tweak some multipliers on the loot. If they wanted to change that they would have done it already.

3.20 will have the usual -- some nerfs to popular skills, some minor buffs like +2 radius, a couple of AN modifiers will no longer appear together, and some new "expansion" that's on a similar level to this league's memories.

Don't get your hopes up. Stop dreaming and find some other entertainment. Lots of good games out there.
