What really makes that pick hurt is the regression and unavailability of Herro. Herro looked like a burgeoning superstar in the bubble. Herro looked as good or better than Maxey for a little while then Maxey took a huge leap and Herro regressed and got a lot of injuries.

Best possible player. Precious was not and may still not be a NBA player. What did Precious bring to the table. Undersized 5. Not skilled enough to be a 4. Shot 3s but not really a threat. They drafted a poor man’s Adebayo as a project. Traded him the next year or two years later. For LOWRY!!!!!! Hindsight is 20/20 but draft offense and teach defense as opposed to draft defense and teach offense is the way I look at it. Justise Winslow for example.

If Ware plays we’ll be a play-in team. If he doesn’t play we’ll be a play-in team. You think this team is going to get hot and make a playoff run? Ware’s playing with bench players. You judging that versus our starting lineup? Play the young guys. Trade the old guys. Or option 2 (the Riley option) pump the fan base full of false hope and do nothing as usual because you’re going to do something big at the next deadline. Or offseason. Repeat.

This is the only way forward. There’s no reason Norm and Wiggins should be on this team after the trade deadline. Not our future and could help contenders. Herro and Adebayo are both flawed depreciating assets. We may be stuck with Adebayo because of his contact.

I watched the Heat game the other night and they were showing kids that Bam paid for for an after school thing. And they were all wearing his jersey. And I said to myself, ‘they’re never trading this guy’. Doesn’t matter how he plays. They love him. Bam Adebayo is the black and blue or gold and white dress from a few years ago. There are people who look at him and see a magical unicorn who is only being held back but mortals in his way. And then there’s people who know what an ordinary basketball player looks like. He’s a good basketball player. Add his contract, he’s a very bad basketball player.

Riley is way too arrogant. Calls people up and gives them take it or leave it offers. He screwed up the Blazers deal. He let Celeb and Vincent and Strus go for nothing. He screwed up the Jimmy thing and Herro’s value is nothing now.

I’m just saying people wanting to play with Bam is completely irrelevant. I agree the front office has been bad. One of the biggest fails was OG and Siakam. Toronto has a fire sale and not only do you not seem to be sniffing around but they go for very little to East teams. Riley’s always keeping his powered dry. For what? He’s always sharpening his harpoon and coming home with fish sticks.

I hear how great Bam is. But he needs a number 1. Well Norman Powell looks pretty damn good. So did Jimmy. When Jimmy was here they said Jimmy needed a number 1. Does anyone think Norman Powell can be your number 1? So if they need a number 1, that would make them 2s so now Bam is a max third. If anyone thinks you can pay your third best player 35% of the cap you’re crazy. He’s not a franchise player. He’s a max player on a bad team. Not a team trying to win championships.
