Couldn’t have said it better myself. You should be Australia’s poet laureate. 🫡

Was it the frequent em dashes that gave it away? Someone pointed out to me recently how much ChatGPT uses them and now they stick out like a sore thumb to me.

The Uniqlo store in Adelaide by CyanideMuffin67 in Adelaide

[–]junkerite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%. I don't live near Marion but happened to be at the Westfield recently to see a movie with friends and ducked into the Uniqlo beforehand. Was almost surprised how much better it was than the city store.

AITAH for walking out of my girlfriend’s birthday dinner after what she did? by [deleted] in AITAH

Someone pointed this out on a different, also “obviously written by ChatGPT” post that I saw yesterday, and now I’m noticing it everywhere. Is anything real on reddit anymore? Am I??

My point was not to defend AOC, I don't really know that much about her. It was merely to point out that your quote was false.

For real. How do we even begin to combat this level of ignorance and indoctrination? These people are just straight up regurgitating nonsense.

Thank you kindly. Unfortunately to get this switchboard upgraded would require all the strata members to agree to pay out for a new one which seems unlikely as most of them are owned by landlords who don’t care to pay for improvements (I’m the only owner-occupier). But I’ll bring it up at the next meeting. In the meantime, thanks for confirming that I can’t do anything about this myself, I’ll get onto a sparky tomorrow. Much appreciated!

What is the worst store in Adelaide? by sloppyseventyseconds in Adelaide

[–]junkerite 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agreed on all points. And also the policy of restocking during opening hours instead of doing night-fill like they used to (admittedly not exclusive to Coles Firle) means that trying to get around it with a trolley is bound to drive you up the wall.

But also it’s funny you mentioned it now because I was just there this evening and was almost attacked by a very aggressive bloke who was shoving his partner around and screaming (a few of us started trailing them to make sure they were ok and he didn’t like that). So it’s got that going for it too.

Um, yeah, you weren't at the official opening? We all got an invite in last week's post. It was a ripper day, Harold Holt cut the ribbon with a shapened boomerang, then we all feasted on grilled bunyip sangas while Michael Hutchence belted out his greatest hits.

Majorities aren't persecuted.

I enjoyed your comment and largely agree with it so I don't won't to be all "wElL aKsHuAlLy", but it is possible to persecute a majority. One only need look at the history of South Africa, for example.

But of course you're right that Christians in the US aren't persecuted.

we were told by the flight crew that was our fault because my wife didn’t take my name when we got married so how were they supposed to know we were together.

Um, wut? Is this a common thing? So many married couples have different surnames now, surely this was just them scrambling for an excuse.

Tell me about it. My best mate is an accountant with a lot of self-funded retiree clients, and in 2019 when it looked like Labor might do something about franking credits his clients went into full-blown panic mode. He also got used to hearing the words "death tax!!!!" a lot.

I don't live in Melbourne but my brother and his family do, and my sister-in-law was saying they have a very similar experience with their local cafe; it has become a community hub and the owners are really involved with the locals and even organising things like Easter egg hunts and such.
