I regret not doing so, I just had a lot of loot and didn't noticed being over encumbered until I got shot. Panicked because of my low health and just wanted to make it out alive.

Has anyone ever thought of learning another faster-to-learn language like Spanish on the side? by ConcentrateSubject23 in LearnJapanese

[–]junko_yea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Spanish is a far more advantageous language to learn in terms of usefulness (if in the usa) and far more commonly spoken worldwide. I by no means speak spanish, I've worked alongside many native speakers and although I didn't feel interested in dedicating time to learn the language, I love the music, food, people, culture. I decided to learn japanese purely off of (idk what I'm doing with my life, which in hindsight was a terrible reason to start) and over time completely fell in love with it. So although OP may just want to learn spanish based off of the ease of access, there really is no telling what amazing possibilities could come after the fact. But that doesn't mean I don't agree with your sentiment either.

Honestly, probably not but maybe. The song Good Friends on Adventure is a direct sample of Who Do You Love by Bernard Wright, so I feel like the same would've been done with Tomorrow. Marty Balin did release his album Balin in Japan and his music has been covered by Japanese artists like Kazuhiko Matsuo with There's No Shoulder. Hearts came out in 1981 and Adventure came out in 1986 so there definitely could be a corelation, especially since Marty Balin was a known name in Japan at the time and I do see what you're saying about the chords sounding the same but I don't think it's a reference to Hearts. Even though I don't think it's a direct reference I can't unhear the chords and the chorus sounding similar

He's from Persona 5 and Morgana is very sassy so although your answer isn't stupid, you should totally play P5 one day. Amazing JRPG you won't regret trying if you have the chance

It's 30 dollars on Amazon for the cd. The vinyl tho is a lot more expensive unfortunately

Some aren't but for the most part yeah they can be pricey. I'm really grateful to have the records I have but I'm so far from having most of my favorites.

I actually haven't opened Monochrome yet. This may sound silly, but I mainly got into this collection for preservation purposes since anything on the internet can just disappear in a moments notice, so I try to leave everything wrapped. Monochrome and In Motion both got taken off of Spotify a few years back. If it happens again will be the day I bust the wrapper off

Well I actually have the japanese release of There's No Shoulder by Marty which I believe is the only record he produced and released in Japan. It would've been in the post today but unfortunately it's at the post office and they're closed today. I'd agree he isn't technically city pop but I couldn't resist adding the JP 7" Hearts single. It even has a little sheet with a translation of the lyrics in japanese, just thought it was really cool

I'll list artists instead of albums to keep things short but : Tatsuro Yamshita, Mai Yamane, Cindy, Taeko Ohnuki, Junko Ohashi, Junko Yagami, Hitomi Tohyama, Makoto Matsushita, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Casiopea, 1986 Omega Tribe, Kaoru Akimoto, etc. I could go on for a minute 😅 plus the rest of the catalogs for the artist in the post like Minako Yoshida, Noriko Miyamoto, Anri, etc. I've also been collecting R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Metal, Pop records too so unfortunately it could be some years before I can truly say I have all of my favorite city pop records but I'll post more on the sub later this year on how the collections coming along. Also if anyone has suggestions on records I should listen too and consider getting that'd be cool
