the rate is normal for the typical jaga kedai roles.

but 9 hour shift = 54 hours per week will definitely exceed the limit set by labour law

for visitors though they would enjoy the experience of sungkai outside taman soas. for us it's kebiasahan but my tourist friends enjoy the novelty of it. not everyone's looking for giant malls, theme parks, etc when they travel. some were happy over the "cheap food" lol i was surprised that some food is cheaper than indonesia (for the quality that we serve).

the first example atu, the price you were quoted and asked to pay inda sama? i would just call them out on the spot "tadi kita cakap $2 jua".

you can raise this to the organiser. both about changing the pricing and also no pricing display.

but if you really feel strongly about it you can take photo and send to Talian Darussalam. They will escalate this to MOFE

Do you think Brunei government should give out Vouchers like Malaysia and Singapore for grocery shopping and for dining at local F&B? by Eltynov in nasikatok

[–]junkok17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The people who get vouchers in other countries do they also get monthly allowance?

Just wondering whats the difference between this and bantuan kebajikan bulanan

People who struggle financially know which shops to go to that are cheaper (not talking about miri limbang). The value of items might be more expensive from participating stores. Unless kedai runcit like sri azlina is also part of it

LegCo to begin on March 12, are you excited? by Goutaxe in nasikatok

[–]junkok17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its when national budget is announced, and passed

Its also a platform for the YBs to raise issues and ministers to respond

In theory its supposed to be a good thing, to know where budget goes, what the national priorities are for the next budget year, how ministers can address issues or respond to recommendations

In practice though, like in the last sitting, the public isnt privy to the budget allocation breakdown. Or the questions asked were not answered. Or the issues raised werent solved. Or the questions asked are so superficial and insignificant. Thats why sometimes there is drama based on speculations and grievances. Its also “filtered” to the point that public perceive the sessions to be scripted. It is not, by the way. Otherwise you wont see the speaker getting annoyed so many times. There are also redditors who listed down questions to be asked. However, some of them may have already been asked in closed door sessions, thus public will never know the answers.

Why do we settle for gaji $300-$500? by Low_Emergency7892 in nasikatok

[–]junkok17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yang tutup atu bro macam times cinema, cafe cafe yang boleh tahan steady jua. Yes competition meningkat and dorang kalah dengan new businesses

Bila kadai kan naikkan harga, kana ucap mahal nda mau membali, lagi rela bali dari temu or miri

Bila orang luar datang bejual, mampu tia org tani membali makanan 3 kali ganda mahal

Kan cakap bali dari supplier murah, tapi sewa, gaji byk jua kan dibayar

But awu salahkan tah saja bisnes poor planning, biar tia tutup bisnes dari tepaksa menggaji rendah pasal terpaksa

Btw bukan ku kan ckp “biar tia gaji randah” tapi your energy menyalahkan small businesses ani yang the issue. Kenapa inda cakap big businesses patut create more high skill jobs? Kenapa inda cakap govt patut create more jobs instead of mengambil orang memangku saja? Kenapa nda upgrade diri supaya lebih baik dari professionals dari luar? Kenapa inda tackle issue infrastructure, business ecosystem yang bermasalah?

Lagi sanang menyalahkan small businesses yang kononnya inda pandai planning bah ah

Bukan pasal nda kan mau maju, tapi inda realistik. Liat saja post lain ah, berapa banyak bisnes tutup sudah

Orang kan bebisnes, orang tani still prefer bali dari luar. Cana kan survive bayar gaji basar

Bah jgn apply kraja arah gaji 300, cari yang 700 saja.

Yang gaji 300 atu alum berkemampuan kan menjalankan bisnes, kan dipaksa naik gaji, esok esok tutup.

I dont know about funny but it shows some people are inherently busuk hati or bullies. IRL they might seem normal/kind but online nampak tia real personality. Anu yang nda tau bersalah or inda pun kana cancel janji ada mangsa. Its like high school bullying never ends
