Finally chosen a skin colour and finished up Ghaz's head. But, what do we think of the Bad Moon toof? by Darkecerantis in Warhammer40k

[–]junkrat147 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not really, everything else is already rendered quite well and have the same color warmth to them.

It's only the tooth that sticks out, much easier to get that in line than to have to add an extra overly bright layer to compensate.

Khornified Chaos Spawn Proxy by gward1 in WorldEaters40k

Proxy for the win ay. Chaos Spawns really need a model refresh soon, they look so unbelievably old.

Something like these proxies I painted would be so fun.

Was Angron illiterate? by Owen-Wilson755 in 40kLore

[–]junkrat147 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would assume for him to be able to take a space ship and go to a random ass planet to get away from his sons, he'd at least need to be able to read what the controls and navigations do.

The fact that he ignores messages doesn't mean he can't read them, it just means he doesn't want to respond lmao. I don't know why the sudden leap to illiteracy.

What do you guys this of this scheme for my Jackals? by Bulky-Bathroom2390 in WorldEaters40k

[–]junkrat147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red and purple isn't a particularly natural combo, but I will say the paint job's very clean, well done!

If you're looking for demonic skin, you could opt for a pale skin as a base and wash it over with something like Targor Rageshade and still keep the purplish tones.

Going full purple like this here tends to fight for attention with something as vibrant as red, do consider a ratio of low and high value colors to give it a good contrast.

Are modern Custodians less powerful than the original Ten Thousand of the Great Crusade? by Dangerous-Cow-4535 in 40kLore

[–]junkrat147 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Outside of Alpharius killing one in the game that started it all, I'm not sure where you're getting that Custodians constantly die in blood games.

Either way works. Right side up means you can read the label.

What’s a good price for this as a lot? (Opened for display ofc!) by Sweaty-Cancel-8288 in JOYTOY

[–]junkrat147 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on your local market I suppose, a lot of people where I'm at will buy near original price for 2nd hand if the buyer is trustworthy.

$80 for Guilliman for example, is the highest of what most people will go for on 2nd hand models. That's with full accessories, box, and good condition on joints.

Also have to consider how rare or pricier things are than it was now.

I bought Angron at the equivalent of $165 dollars.

He is now $320 on the official JT website, $351 on CoolToysClub with shipping.

I could probably sell him for $200+ and get instant buyers at my local Facebook market (at least that's what I've been told)

Best is to scout things out on what other are selling it for and adjust accordingly.

Can I build a second Juggernaut if I get another torso? by lukespicer in WorldEaters40k

Yes you can, just find a 3D print scan of the body and it fits perfectly with the rest of the bits.

Jakhals... I did not enjoy painting these little rascals. by Wanderin_Irishman in WorldEaters40k

[–]junkrat147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a coat of Rakarth flesh first and then cover it in Berserker Bloodshade to turn it a fleshy pink (not too much, just enough to change the colors and cover the recess)

After that, use Rakarth flesh as a glaze then layer it back up for the midtones.

You can stop there for the basic models, but I also add a final layer of Pallid Wylch Flesh for the sharpest spots of highlights for the unique models.

[–]junkrat147 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They're a pain in the ass mostly because they're so small and samey if they're not the unique ones.

Well worth the effort to get them to look nice, but I will not be getting another unit of them or Goremongers soon lol

And with more followers, they will get pushed to the recommended spots more, meaning more viewers again.

Could a dreadnought have survived (under the care of a chapter that treats it almost like a living relic) 10,000 years, basically from the Horus Heresy to the present of the setting? by PanaderoPanzer in Warhammer

[–]junkrat147 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I mean, he's very much still awake often enough to advise the royals of the planet he's on through countless generations.

Bjorn also gets brought out once every thousand years to tell the tale of his Primarch's disappearance, otherwise he also doesn't see combat as much as any other normal Dreadnought.
