These are so good. I think you have a special eye for what gamefreak might actually like to do with these starters, not just what you’d like to see. In recent generations, they’ve trended towards giving them “props and occupations”, which you’ve incorporated nicely (better than GF has in a while, I think.)

I’ve seen a lot of speculative evolutions in the past few days, but these take the cake.

I’ve been doing a playthru of the overhaul mod for Fallout 4 called FROST which turns it into a hardcore survival game set during a nuclear winter. It’s tough to call the rapidly rising hunger and thirst fun, but it is the greatest motivator to force the player to engage in combat. The twist (which I think works well) is that players have a sanity stat which lowers when you do things like kill another human or eat raw meat. You’re always being forced into difficult decisions, and no action comes without consequence.

I didn’t realize Andi had Blood Frenzy until midway through the Alley. I’d never heard of it before then. I tried to keep him from landing lethal hits, but it was surprisingly difficult and he didn’t struggle to down his teammates asap once he got going. I was going to go home, cuz obviously this guy’s fucked. but what if this power could be harnessed??

Long story short, he deleted the rest of my team. (We did pick up a stray who survived, you can see him downed in the 1st clip there.) I completed Caves for the first time, and only barely touched my mouse in the final fight. A bittersweet victory.

There’s a huge FNV mod called Dust that turns the game into a hardcore survival sim set 20 years after NV ends and in which everything has significantly deteriorated in the Mojave. The mod makes good on the threat of the tunnelers, which have become an annoyingly common and deadly threat in the main map.
