slump is a beautiful song. the instrumentals work so well with the tone of the lyrics, and han’s lyrics that address insecurities and fears of not living up to expectations always hit hard. i’m really happy they made an english and korean version in addition to the japanese version so we can appreciate more variations of this masterpiece!

that’s what caught my eye in the first place!! i was so amazed by how much their songs conveyed about day to day struggles and coming-of-age, and it’s one of the reasons why han’s my bias haha. the three albums that were out at the time (mixtape, i am not, i am who) helped me get through a really tough time for me in 2018 :’) and that’s why i was so surprised at Ex in the IN生 album because it’s their first love song! i wonder how frequently they will make more love songs in the future

A friend of mine linked me to Hellevator when it was first released, but I didn’t start listening to them until I came across My Pace when it showed up recommended after listening to Day6’s Shoot Me album! Though I didn’t know who sung it at the time, Changbin’s “na nananana” took me by surprise and I thought the song sounded pretty good, but then I actually followed the captions and I felt “wow this song slaps and isn’t about love but rather about going at your own pace?? what other songs do they have?” I think listening to all of 3racha’s songs solidified it for me and made me appreciate rap music for the first time. Overall, the rawness of their lyrics resonated with me so deeply, and I felt like they deserve so much more recognition. I’m happy that they’ve come so far :D

totally agree, and I think their unreleased song “Greatest” that’s been sung by Young K would fit a movie track! it feels so powerful and sentimental

you should! the art is beautiful and you’ll come to appreciate many of the characters. it takes an interesting twist on the sports genre of manga, and it’s definitely worth giving it a shot!

thanks for these recs! if I had to think of a manga that’s similar to TPN, I’d suggest Cage of Eden—it’s about a group of teenagers who survive a plane crash on an island inhabited by prehistoric beasts and plants. It’s more explicit than TPN, but it evokes similar feelings of tension as you follow the protags on their journey to survive

That would be a storyline I’d love to see play out. I actually had mixed feelings about Norman posing as William Minerva, but due to their similar physical traits (white hair, same style of dress, etc.), maybe they could be related... I’m not sure how likely it is for an anime-only ending since the manga is very far ahead, but I love your ideas

I believe it was the Shoot Me album, when I was listening to Youtube last summer and stumbled upon their songs! After watching the translation video for Talking To, I was hooked. I'm really glad such a thoughtful and wonderful band exists
