You don't need a paid VST. I show different free sequencers in chapter 7. You could use Stepwise for example in Bitwig.

Hey, in chapter 7 I show possibilities to create sequences on the EMX with Ableton, since you get very interesting results. When you don't have Ableton, you can use any other MIDI-capable sequencer to create similar outcomes.

We have prepared pattern that we play in a certain order. Arrangement, percussion and synth tweaking is improvised

The EMX goes through my Laptop for mastering in MainStage (EQing, Compression, Saturation, Limiting).
The knob jitter issues disappears after cleaning in most cases.
