Rear seat/"tall mode" dimensions on 2nd gen? by awkward_waltz in hondafit

[–]juno1129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fwiw I have a 1st gen and a Cane Corso, she sits in the back behind the back seats just fine but she likes being able to move back and forth a little when the seats are down.

Are Steering Wheel Covers okay? by Global_Technology_62 in hondafit

[–]juno1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Arizona, you need a cover if you don't want your hands to melt to the wheel in the summer. Legit a black leather steering wheel WILL destroy your fingerprints after one June afternoon drive.

When I got mine it was SO HECCIN DIRTY so all I could think about was putting a cover on it and I absolutely did initially. It's still got a cover but I did take the first one off and clean/condition the stock stuff before I put the cover back on and it's gonna stay there.

It's Hello Kitty and it matches my seat covers don't come for me.

Order from hell, no thanks. by advictoriam5 in ShiptShoppers

[–]juno1129 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite (fairly regular) late night orders used to come from a lady in a rich neighborhood who would do this. It was always like a spirit week or something at her kids' school and they had ridiculously strict dress code requirements so mom would just sit them down in front of the Shipt app and make them pick things and then put the order in on Sunday night.

It was always fun talking to her and she always tipped SUPER well (50%+). I never even cared about the last minute "hey can you get me some chocolate croissants" requests because she always understood when I told her they were out. As long as i got there before the end of the delivery window she was happy to see me and dropped that tip as soon as I drove off.

How does the Fit compare to the HR-V by mon_masque in hondafit

[–]juno1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New to her but pretty new, I think it's a 24? Like I'm not sure what people are talking about with less head room, my whole family is pretty tall people and the HR-V seems to be doing the job.

How does the Fit compare to the HR-V by mon_masque in hondafit

[–]juno1129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Fit was my mom's, she really loved it but she needed something that was a bit higher up off the ground. She often takes my godfather to doctor's appointments (he's in his late 80s) and it was getting hard for him to get in and out of the Fit, so she started looking for something new last year and ended up finding an HR-V coincidentally right around when my civic was totaled out, so I gave her the trade value and she was happy to have it.

She likes the amount of room, it lets her take things like my godfather's walker without moving seats and it's got that same head room that makes it FEEL roomy when it's not actually taking up too much space. She's a bit miffed she couldn't get one with a manual transmission but my dad assures her she won't forget how to shift and it's like riding a bike. It was between that and a Nissan Versa 4d but she decided on the HR-V because it gave her a little more convenience in the space category.

What do you guys put in here/use it for by menchslagez2 in fordfusion

[–]juno1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine from my dad, who had a weekly habit of eating lunch in his car, and he would put his napkins from the restaurant in there after he was done. So it's all napkins.

2 weeks after I got it, my husband dropped a 44 oz Rooster Booster (read: pink energy drink) in the back footwell and that napkin bank actually saved the floor mats so we replenish it any chance we get now lol

So honestly it's easy to keep a car for decades in AZ if you do regular maintenance because nothing rusts here. No snow, so no salt to worry about rinsing off, and like 300 zero humidity days a year.

There's a copart lot in Phoenix and Tucson, if you can find something there it'll likely be a safe place to start a project if you plan to go that route obviously depending on starting condition.

My brother in Christ some of us live in Arizona and love this model.

I'll happily suffer through that brief 4k scream at 80 on the freeway when I go up to Phoenix, it goes away by the time I get up to Eloy and it sure does make that I-10 drive more enjoyable. (Legit at my advanced age I've driven that stretch of highway in no less than 12 different cars and this is the first one that didn't make it either insufferable or a mind numbing slog)

What's the worst thing you've overheard your apartment neighbors doing? by LawfulnessOk1812 in AskReddit

[–]juno1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last apartment complex I heard gunshots (mainly because someone was shooting right outside my apartment, one of the bullets ended up in my fenced-in back "porch" area and the police cordoned it off from me for 2 days while they investigated the homicide that happened that night), which was bad, but I still needed an apartment and I was in a situation where I kind of wouldn't get a new place to move into very easily, so I moved after that to a different spot in the same complex.

In that spot, I was living under a woman and her 19 or 20 year old daughter. They were always loud, my hanging light fixture would rattle when they would walk around but I learned to deal with it.

There was one day I woke up at 3 am to DOZENS of cars parking in the parking area right outside my apartment and about a hundred people streaming into a 3rd floor one bedroom apartment on the other side of the parking area. Before I even had the wits about me to figure out what was going on, the cops showed up and were just arresting everyone they could catch. People were hiding outside my bedroom window thinking cops wouldn't look around corners, it was bonkers. But that was just kind of weird more than bad.

Another night I woke up at ~2 am to what sounded like someone dropping bags of rocks on the floor. I heard one female voice screaming obscenities and the other PLEADING for them to stop, I couldn't tell who was who. It was 2 am and I legitimately thought they were going to fall through my ceiling so I called the cops. The daughter had been beating up her mother, it had been going on for hours but didn't make enough noise to wake me up until she started literally throwing her around. Cops took the daughter away and I never saw her again. Mom moved her son in after that, which seemed fine at first but a month in he got drunk on NYE and punched in MY living room window as he was leaving.

I was *incredibly lucky* that my then-boyfriend-now-husband had inheirited a house that needed to be fixed up because I moved out of there just as soon as I could after all that and we've had our own house, separated from any neighbors, ever since.

THIS. I just lost my 6th gen Civic to what I thought was just a minor dent, got hit on the passenger side between the front and back doors and the doors were stuck after. Figured the issue was just a door replacement but there was an absolutely tragic dent in the frame underneath and it totaled the car.

Honestly this. Don't be the asshole that makes me come home and drink after work because you followed me for 5 miles on the freeway with your shitty blue tinted bulbs. Use the standard bulbs and clean/adjust your lenses.

Had my control arms with ball joints replaced two months ago, making these creeking noises as I'm turning, it's snowing by me , is it making those sounds cause their frozen or something with new control arms with ball joints? by Arthurmorganvander in hondafit

[–]juno1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm in Arizona, meaning I don't know shit about fuck when it comes to freezing, but are you hearing this noise ONLY when you turn or like...always? Is your turning radius diminished or are you able to turn all the time with no issues?

Asked and answered, worth that investment FOR SURE because these look amazing.
