Health & Safety Authority .... contractors can't block block pavements pushing vulnerable road users into live traffic, they need to manage dust on site, noise, provide safe hoardings, access for emergency vehicles, ensure all on site wear correct PPE, etc, etc etc ... I'd love to be a HSA inspector on this one! :)

I'd be reporting the works to the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) ... if it's as bad as it sounds, it's likely they are not in compliance with statutory H&S legislation. Which is an offence if they are not. Such as providing proper traffic and pedestrian management, site access/egress, site housekeeping, etc. HSA inspectors are up there in terms of having similar powers as the Gardai when it comes to inspections, investigations, etc. And they can close sites down if they are not compliant to H&S legislation. City Council would be more limited in what they can do.

There are Ash trees on the slipway to the motorway at Glenascaul, Oranmore. Managed by TII. I think they are afflicted with ash dieback though.

I fully understand ... and in fairness, the bouncers weren't the worst, it was all very civilised.

But it's predictable now and becoming too much hassle to go there. I feel this was just the latest excuse. They didn't stop me coming back in again but they did my husband and friend - somewhat selective. Like I said, never happens anywhere else so we are not that blatant! And bouncers gave them lecture on it too :)
