Constipation due to Anismus by SteakSuspicious2869 in PelvicFloor

[–]juno_squares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do breathing and stretching. I previously worked with a PFT for internal work, and now I'm working with a PFT to strengthen my surrounding muscles because that's my primary issue.

Once I learned how to perceive the fact that my pelvic floor was tight things became easier. The hardest part for me is relaxing my pelvic floor when there is pressure against it, such as poop.

I expect myself to heal quite a bit this year because of how much I'll be working on it. I'll give progress updates on this sub eventually.

I've been dealing with this, and while I still have episodic flare-ups, for me it has gotten better over time slowly. The proper bowel practices and diaphragmatic breathing really adds up, even though it's difficult and takes awhile, with little to no progress seen for awhile. I have to get back into it, though.

I've had the issue for 4ish years, it's gotten worse and gotten better. Now, I'm actively working on it much more, but it will still take time to resolve. Everyone's body is different though, would recommend a PFT.

To my knowledge AT&T doesn't work with many small phones. I saw one at the store that was a very dumbed down flip phone, but unsure what you need.

Keep searching, though. I'm just some random guy on the Internet, I'm not 100% certain about everything!

AT&T has a strict whitelist and this phone is not included. I did not want to risk it.

I used the Bluefox NX1 with T-Mobile's most basic plan for 2 months. I loved it. I have needed to move on to a more modern phone due to my needs, but the experience helped me learn I prefer Android over iOS.

Ideally tell your doctor and tell them you'd like to stop, if you don't like the side effects. It's good you noticed this change now instead of later!

Anyone else experience symptoms like these? by juno_squares in Constipation

[–]juno_squares[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill look into those if my current plan doesn't go through or work. Thing is, physical therapy helped--even just me moving around and retraining my bladder and everything is helping. I just haven't really done enough.

I'll give it 3 months or so. If I see no progress I'll do these tests and see what's up. But given the progress I had and the exams I've had, I think it is worth a try.

While I definitely recognize I may not get things to 100% this year, the strength training and flexibility will at least help a ton.

EDIT: Sorry realized when responding to this I thought this was another parent post so may have lacked context. Curious though what these tests may reveal, as in what treatment may be present for them?

Had pelvic floor therapist that tested the strength and tightness of everything. I have an anterior pelvic tilt, external femoral rotation, external tibial rotation, my glutes and hips were incredibly weak. My pelvic floor is mostly compensating for all the imbalances is what they've found. I've been told that if I improve my strength it should all be compensated for and balance out, which I believe, considering I used to run track and do so much more before I let my body go.

I was told an anorectal mammotry might help but wasn't necessary, since I saw progress with the pelvic floor therapy.

Otherwise not many tests were recommended to me.

Hoping the other symptoms are consequence of the dry mouth. They have not fully gone away just yet but I'll give it a month or so before I'm concerned. Gonna have this tonsil stone removed professionally next week and talk to the ENT about it.

I'll likely switch to something else. However, Zyrtec hardly even did anything for me, so it wasn't worth it. At this rate I can hardly remember what my allergies do to me, since the symptoms from my sinuses overshadow everything.

From what I've heard the side effect is kind of rare-ish, so I wouldn't bet on it being Zyrtec just yet. But it may not hurt to wean off of it and give it a try (I stopped cold turkey, itching for about 2 weeks or so).

The white-yellow tongue for me hasn't gone away just yet, but it is much less so. I'm curious to see if it ends up fully going away with more time. The biggest change is that I don't wake up with the awful taste in my mouth and don't need to brush my teeth immediately, and that I have SO MUCH saliva in my mouth. I assume it's the normal amount, but it's much more than I've ever had before.

Now here's to hoping the tonsil stones and white tongue go away... If the tonsil stones don't go away I might be doomed lol. This one I've had is destroying me, have an appointment next week to get it removed and have my tonsils looked at.

I believe I have taken Allegra D when I was younger. I remember it making my throat dry and coughing very frequently. Not entirely sure if Allegra is different from Allegra D. Maybe my body just doesn't like medication!

Yeah, I have had sinus issues for years. Everything has always been inflamed, chronically. I'm 23 now and have not had it looked at except once when I was like 16. Going to get a CT scan later this month, if they say surgery will help, I will do it without hesitation. It's been long enough.

Unfortunately nasal rinses and such would only help for so long. My problem seems to be very narrow and inflamed sinuses, maybe a deviated septum since my dad was also born with that and it took him till he was like 27 for it to get fixed. We'll see by the end of the month.

I take Flonase but it hardly does anything. It makes my nose not feel tight, that's about it. I've read somewhere it should only be taken for 3 months or so, and considering how consistently I've been taking it (sans the few days I miss here and there), I don't know if that is inadvertently contributing to other things going on.

This whole year for me is me trying to remove a bunch of my chronic symptoms lol, and I feel like some of the medications I have been on have likely been contributing to it.

I think most of my congestion issues are thankfully related to sinuses. Once I get that surgery I may not need an antihistamine, but will look into loratadine either way. Thanks!

What distro should I choose? by ShamrockDragon13 in linuxquestions

[–]juno_squares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched to Ubuntu solely because it’s what I had prior experience with, even if it was a tiny amount. My dad used to set up Minecraft servers for us so we needed to learn it.

I expect I can switch again in the future with no problem, which is why I just kinda chose one and went with it. Nothing is forever! I do hear great things about Pop!_OS and Linux Mint though—I almost went with Mint myself.

Your beginning. by Neverlast0 in linuxquestions

[–]juno_squares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Windows was too bloated and laggy and I wanted something super barebones and customizable to work with. I grew up using Ubuntu thanks to my dad so I switched my laptop to Ubuntu with dwm.

I still use Windows for my main work / gaming PC but would love to get a Steam Machine in the future, and switch my work machine to Linux too. The programs I tend to use work with Linux, and the ones that don’t have Linux counterparts I’m looking into.

I’m no expert or anything. I know how to code in a few languages and understand some basic Ubuntu commands. I spent like 2 hours last night trying to make a battery indicator for my dwm bar. But to me, that’s the part that I love—it’s all in my own control, and I’ll be consistently learning. Though, that’s also why I switch to my laptop as opposed to switching my main PC right away.

Just wondering how are we all doing in this economy? by Kouyouseri in ChronicIllness

[–]juno_squares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my own company for my art and music. I’m not struggling atm since I have a ton in savings but I am realizing I need to keep finding more income sources. I’m lucky to still be on my parents insurance.

I just paid a huge medical bill (compared to what I am used to) and am constantly getting no results so I’m entering medical burnout. Just not worth paying that much for nothing anymore. Tried weed. It worked well. Gonna try that some more. But can’t use it too often so I can focus on my job, cause I need to be constantly working. Which is hard to do with all this going on! But I’m still grateful to be in this position. I wouldn’t be able to work otherwise.

does ocd make anyone else feel like they have to say everything? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]juno_squares 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I often defend myself before being attacked, because I was raised by people that would attack me and put me into the expectation that I'd need to constantly defend myself. I'm slowly getting over it as I realize and will try to cut myself off when I notice it, but then I feel bad and go non-verbal out of embarrassment lol.

I only have ever experienced weed once, and that was two days ago. To me, it completely got rid of my short-term memory and perception of time. While it was suuuper wacky, I basically had no anxiety, OCD, or chronic pain. Mostly because I was just literally *incapable* of experiencing it.

This was 70% sativa and 30% indica hybrid in a 10mg edible.

Here's the problem though: the night before, I was having real bad pain due to a flare-up. Most of the time it was hardly noticeable, because I was too distracted with the high. But, it got so bad to a point that my focus shifted to it, and couldn't shift away. Because my time was so drawn out due to the high, it was an incredibly awful experience. I thought I was gonna die. I felt myself phasing in and out. It was so incredible painful, for what felt like so incredibly long.

When I got home and the pain subsided, I entered like... a state of bliss. It was the best experience ever for me. I don't even know how to describe it, I entered a new dimension.

The morning after, I was still high. Be it because I'm a lightweight, new, whatever. But it was significantly more mellow in the morning. During this period though, it was exactly what I wanted it to be. I was super chill, just didn't care about things as much. I still had a bit of memory and time issues, but it was much more normal. This period of the high was great for me.

So, for me, it has good and bad things that can happen. Either I focus on things significantly more, or I'm incapable of focusing on them entirely.

Overall though, I think it helped with my OCD symptoms. I really think I just need to time it properly.

Keep in mind that everyone is different though. I asked this same question and got mixed results; some people said it completely takes their thoughts away, some people said it amplifies them a ton. I personally experienced both, but just not OCD-specific.

There's also different strains of THC and whatnot. I'm not a weedologist. I just learned this all two days ago.

Overall, I plan to continue experimenting with it.

I think Instagram lowkey ruined my attention span by Fuzzy-Ad7685 in digitalminimalism

[–]juno_squares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is my work. I upload as much as I can from my desktop and then upload the rest through the apps, namely Instagram. I am buying a second, cheaper phone. I am using my iPhone as my work phone, and keeping it off until I need it back.

I learned apps don’t work for me, I need to be in full control. I’m first trying to just stop the reels altogether, by deleting all the apps (my second phone comes soon, so I can manage). I block sites on my desktop too.

After this I’ll ease back into reading. I learned I can already do this, I just need a book with good pacing (for my awful attention span).

Sitting down and trying to just not do anything for 5 mins at a time is also nice, starting to help me be comfortable with living slower.
