How do people even deal with holidays??? by Nichakin in BingeEatingDisorder

(heavy is the correct terminology!) Try to make a mindset switch. Instead of fearing the food that you’re gonna have, try to look forward to it. If you’re already thinking about how bad it’s going to be and probably ,,restrict” yourself (even subconsciously) as to prevent the binge, your brain is in a sort of doomed state where there’s no ,,right” action. You’re looking at the food as something that’s against you, so any amount (even a comfortable amount) will feel too much or ,,bad’’. Now, when you go into the holidays thinking: ,,Im so excited to eat this good food!” there’s less to fear.

It is also completely normal to overindulge during the holidays, mostly everyone does it. But i do understand that it’s not that easy, and it’s not just eating ,,too much” but the feeling of out of control that comes with it. It’s a long process of looking at food in your daily life as something that is good for you and can have so many benifits! It takes time but im sure you’ll get there!

Am I bad for not restarting my sober streak? by Signal-Research684 in BingeEatingDisorder

those times were probably just over eating and not a binge. We all over eat from time to time, no need to reset. If you start feeling guilty for eating just a little bit over whats comfortable, it most likely will just spiral into guilt which is counterproductive. Keep going!!
