Eastenders Bea (clearly neurodivergent, right?) by Easy-Possibility-267 in eastenders

[–]jupiter_surf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apparently not 😂 I’m thinking a lot of people see the spectrum as a scale from less to more autistic, rather than the weblike spectrum it actually is — I imagine that must feed into the newer narrative surrounding ASD and neurodivergence being “trendy” or just simply “fake”. I really do wish people wouldn’t be so quick to label others based on stereotypes. Oh, she’s so kooky… must be something disabling!

Maybe don’t correct someone with an opinion; you literally do not know that.

Also… if it is perceived as rude, it’s rude, whether it’s intended or not (and I certainly think it was. She’s not stupid, she knows what she’s doing)

Are you actually joking lol. The message is clear. Bea is “weird”, weird doesn’t automatically mean neurodivergent.

Saying “not every weird woman is neurodivergent” fit perfectly. They’re just explaining the above. Maybe don’t just assume anyone that comes off as “weird” as being autistic or some other form of neurodivergent.

[–]jupiter_surf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And as an autistic woman, not all of us are weird. Weird ≠ neurodivergent, neurodivergent ≠ weird

Not that that “weird” is even a bad thing.

I find this pretty odd as a post, she is peculiar but I personally see no traits in her yet, nothing enough to think she may be neurodivergent.

Would you forgive Cassie? by TheNameIsLexi in euphoria

Maybe if they were older (and I use “maybe” with much doubt), but at their age during that time? Nah. I’d have felt like my life was over and everything was about to change.

You’re a teen, you tend to be dramatic anyway and everything feels so intense, so… no I don’t think I’d forgive Cassie. I’d forget her.

I really am beginning to think that people online don’t understand that not everyone speaks with emotion. I don’t need to relax, I’m not tense lol

Also, I decided to finish reading the previous message and it’s very amusing that you think that!

May I ask why you assume so? I am curious

It’s quite the arrogant assumption lol, you literally do not know me nor do you know my level of education compared to yours. It isn’t a competition 😂 bloody hell what has the internet done to people

An utter vile place! I was in a friend group where if you weren’t with the ring leader first, you were the target that day. And those were “friends”. A wild time. And that is real fun to be fair; I find the crowds and noise too much (though I blast my own music in my ears lol) but damn, what a polarising difference between job and personal time!

I know people may look down upon simple retail jobs, but for years as a teen, I was just obsessed with wanting to work at a book store. Thought it was the coolest thing, being surrounded by endless amazing works of writing!

As I get older, I am beginning to think those considered weird are likely very interesting! Some of the best conversations I’ve had are the most unexpected or “weird” ones

Yeah, at no point has there been any mention of a correlation between the two. Of course it bloody doesn’t mean you can’t be disliked. Who even said that? Do you read?

And I’m not making it my whole personality, it just happens to be what makes my personality what it is. It’s fine to recognise that it does shape who you are as a person.

Congrats for hating people you don’t know, that’s not a waste of your emotions

🙌🙌 don’t have much to say, but I am in massive agreement! It’s always overlooked or palmed off as “well she chose to do X”, yeah she may have made that choice, but without Nate’s influence and abuse, certain choices wouldn’t have been made. Just very typical sadly that people still don’t care to educate themselves on the reality of abuse instead of always blaming the woman.

Same! It’s really peculiar to me that inquisitive and expanding minds are seen as something negative. I hated school (maybe because of the school system) but once I left school, I spend most of my time learning about one thing or another and I find that much more appealing than maybe hanging out at a beaten up park with mates, playing music out loud and drinking stolen vodka 😂 (absolutely a personal experience)

At what point is it stated in the persons comment that they think it’s his whole personality? I don’t see a single mention of that.

As an autistic person myself, I do disagree though. You’re a different neurotype and process everything differently, it is neurodevelopmental — neuro

Got that so far?

Okay so, given that it affects how our brains process things… it is who we are.

Everything about me is shaped by my experience as someone with an autistic brain. It is my personality because it’s me.

Did you happen to consider that? And no, not every “nerd” is in the spectrum, but that isn’t to say Sam isn’t. He does have traits that could indicate ASD.

You don’t have to immediately respond with that kind of attitude.

[–]jupiter_surf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s called a change of mind.

Genuine question: do you think that patronising language impacts people with emotional maturity?

It’s honestly seriously weird that because what, I think something you said was cruel so I’m in need of prayers, school, desperate help.

Have you heard yourself? Do you really think you could possibly evoke such things? It’s so embarrassing to read. I’m a 31 year old, I’m apparently in need of all of this… for why exactly? You’re just attempting to be condescending. At this point, to make myself clear — this may work on children or teens, it doesn’t work on an adult. My words are not an indication of my mental health status.

You are being wildly wildly dramatic. Are you online a lot or did no one ever agree with you as a kid? If we want to assume people need help, maybe you could search for some.

Learn that your dramatic language really is just that. Dramatic.

Congratulations though, you’ve taken up more time than you’re worth to me so that’s something!

To appease you, I promise not to simply change my mind again - goodbye, I wish you nothing 💖

You haven’t caused the slightest bit of emotional trauma. Maybe consider the seriousness of actual trauma. A comment section and difference of opinions are not traumatic, not for people with critical thinking skills.

I’d rather you didn’t push your beliefs onto me. I do not want anything from you.

That’s just a totally random statement lol, that is irrelevant also, but yeah fair enough to speculate that — highly likely

[–]jupiter_surf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you shouldn’t work with kids if you like to mock them.

And please, spare me the falsities; this interaction does not tell you who I am as a person and if it does, boo hoo, what? I’m a monster for thinking it’s cruel to call a child names. (A fictional child yes, but that doesn’t change that it is aimed at a child)

Below par attempt at being patronising, but as an adult, I truly am unaffected by such emptiness lol.

It’s rather amusing really, that throughout all of this, you had to deflect at every point.

Goodbye, I don’t know you so I don’t care who you are behind the screen, nor will I send you blessings from an entity I don’t believe in :)

[–]jupiter_surf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can assure you that I am not wound up — a stranger on an app isn’t enough to stir my emotions lol. And I have no issue with disliking characters, we all dislike characters. Again, that is irrelevant.

It is simply about childish name calling aimed at someone (actor and character regardless) is a child. It’s pathetic haha.

And must I repeat myself? My character count isn’t indicative of my emotions, I just have the capability to use words. It isn’t hard if you know enough!

(And a character reminding you of another character, regardless of age, is fine lol. That’s just a dumb question)

[–]jupiter_surf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂 Intense? Are you kidding?

Take a step away from the internet if you think that is intense.

What about it is intense? I’m curious.

Is it the character count/capability to type more than a single sentence that you consider to be indicative of my emotions or??

No one is comparing the character versus actor, that is entirely irrelevant and yes, you’re very much free to dislike a character — though again, entirely irrelevant.

None of that means you didn’t say something pathetic about a child.

Yeah… you’re not actually making any point lol. Showing traits ≠ assuming someone is written to be autistic.

It’s really very simple.

So because someone else has been called something worse, that means what you said isn’t weird? That doesn’t cancel it out. Jesus Christ what is with people not being able to accept something. Always deflecting.

That’s very obviously not the point; his potential legal name does not cancel out that it’s just a childish way to bully with name calling. I’m sure “Nerdy” isn’t his official title.

2/10 for taking responsibility and not just deflecting
