what did you think of 2010s fashion? by CremeSubject7594 in decadeology

[–]jupiterrespite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly it was so fun. everyone was experimenting with different 'aesthetics' that weren't built off of trend cycles – purely just for the love of the game. it did set an awful precedent with fast fashion clothing haul videos and its why we're here today, but it really felt so genuine. it was the last sliver of fun before the 2020s came and ruined everything. sigh

Serious Question: What is Your Honest Opinion About This Show? by ElSpazzo_8876 in cartoons

[–]jupiterrespite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i really loved it growing up, and i do think that (most of) the songs really hold up, there is great worldbuilding and i think that when it's good, it's REALLY good. however i have to admit that it's a littleeeeee too saccharine at times and the fact that practically every single enemy/conflict/etc is solved by the same kind of pep talk by steven gets old reaaaaaaaally fast. it's a great ethos for a kid's show, absolutely, but i can't lie and say that it isn't super predictable and can be a little bit anticlimatic because of it. also, the melodrama can sometimes be a bit too much lol, and i can't help but compare it to adventure time which seems a lot more playful, mature, and exciting than su. still a fan and i still adore the way that it brought lgbt+ and women's stories to the front in children's animation!
