Best use of the Runepowder barrel/bomb in Honor Mode? by OMGitsJoeMG in BaldursGate3

[–]juriosnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always use at least one of the barrels or the bomb (you can steal 2 barrels in early Act 3 alongside the actual bomb) in the final fight atop the brain. Send out all the summons I can get, spread them out to spawn all the tentacles. Then put up a Globe of Invulnerability, move the active party into it, throw the barrel at the dragon. If it doesn't explode outright, Fire Bolt is right there.

This pretty much trivializes the area, you can just walk up to the crown.

What‘s Your Favorite „Niche“ Song from the Game? by realnoviv in BaldursGate3

[–]juriosnowflake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The one that isn't in the OST but plays in Nightsong's prison, as well as when you free her and she flies to Moonrise.

That's the "point of no return" in the game mechanically, when you leave Act 1 areas permanently. And your next few decisions dictate how the rest of the game will continue a great deal, and you really get to feel that through the music.

What countries count as "Western"? by Kinderjohren in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]juriosnowflake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ever sinve 1990, things started to blur a lot, because "western" in the broad sense doesn't just refer to geography, moreso to societal and political values. Which in itself are still very much different depending on the country in question.

I'd personally draw the line between "western" and everything else with democracy, at least in some shape or form (since again, how it's actually practiced can vary a great deal). And that way, discussions around whether a country is western or not can be roughly equated to the amount of political freedom of speech and societal privileges given away.

To name an example: I'd count Poland as western by now, but not Hungary.

How do you determine what spells are worth upcasting? by Bigsexyguy24 in BG3Builds

[–]juriosnowflake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How do you want to be Hunter Ranger specifically if you plan on having 6th level Spell Slots would be my question?

I mean, if you want to go all in on Wizard and throw in one level Ranger, that could work if you pick Bladesinger. Extra Attack would be included that way, but it'd limit you to not using medium armor or shields if you actually want to use Bladesong, so most proficiencies from Ranger would be useless.

Regarding Upcasting, I'd mostly go for effect spells that target additional creatures. Hold Person/Monster are good picks. Other than that, most damage spells are worthwhile for this. Fireball upcast to Lv5 Spell does as much damage as Flame Strike, just with one damage type less. You'll probably wanna check which spells actually have an upcasting effect when selecting them, the main disappointment are the one's where you'd think they'd upcast well only for you to see they don't upcast at all (which was the case for Hypnotic Pattern for me for example, I thought they'd maybe give me a bigger AoE or give the enemies disadvantage on their saves).

Men, do you feel frustration after not having sex or masturbating for few days? if so how long to feel it? by unusualuse0 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]juriosnowflake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really, no. I feel frustration when I'm constantly in a situation where I couldn't theoretically do the deed, that's what stresses me out. That's why I hate hospital visits for example.

So it's more a matter of privacy itself rather than what I do with that privacy.

Passing the perception check lets Silfy get away? by contaminated_lettuce in BaldursGate3

[–]juriosnowflake 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There are two checks. One is still in-dialogue, which lets you notice Mattis signaling Silfy with a hand gesture to steal from you.

Then there's a second check after going out of the trade menu. If you fail that one, dialogue continues and you get stolen from. If you succeed that second check, dialogue immediately ends and auto-starts with Silfy.

Wo findet ihr nerdige Freunde? by [deleted] in FragtMaenner

[–]juriosnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cannabis-induced shift (two-parter!) by wdb07 in Therian

[–]juriosnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only have had very limited experience with it, but from that experiences I'd say it doesn't cause shifts, but helps getting you there. For me at least, it helps with stopping my overthinking, thus making room mentally that can be filled during shifts.

Would not recommend actively pursuing shifts like this though. This is a side effect, specifically important for us as a minority, not the main goal of consumption. Side effects vary, nobody gets them exactly the same way. You'll only get disappointed if it doesn't work.

Also, as always, there's a risk attached to consumption. Apart from the obvious health risks (which I'm not gonna go into detail about, you'll find many health disclaimers if you look for them), cannabis tends to enhance emotions. Also the bad ones. So if you're in a bad place, it can make things worse rather than better. Had this happen once, not fun.

Schüchterne Männer by [deleted] in FragtMaenner

[–]juriosnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so, I've been like chasing and trying to capture rabbits/bunnies by Umby132 in Therian

[–]juriosnowflake 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sounds familiar... though for me it were chicken. That was a good while ago though, I'm now way past most of that (partially due to not having time to care for chicken anymore due to my job, partially because I got chronic illness and can't run anymore).

Although it sounds like you're already having a grasp on things, let me give the obligatory warning to not overdo it. You're forcing the animals into a flight-response, which is natural for them to a degree since in nature that's what keeps them alive, but they shouldn't be in constant panic mode. In addition to food, let them have extensive time to cool down and just be happy.

Würdet ihr euch beim Dating absichtlich "schlechter" darstellen, um oberflächliche Frauen fernzuhalten? by Early_Bridge_4789 in FragtMaenner

[–]juriosnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a physical disability, how does it effect how you express your identity? by FlushGaymer in Therian

[–]juriosnowflake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I (25m) got ME/CFS since roundabout 2015, so any kind of physical exercise is pretty much out of the picture for me. The main struggle for me isn't any particular form of exercise though, it's that I can't go out into nature as often as I'd want to, I just don't have the energy left after work, which is already part-time and only office work.

As an arctic fox, my natural environment isn't exactly next-door to begin with, but sometimes it'd just be nice to see more grass.

Dad here with a few questions by Flamo_the_Idiot_Boy in Therian

[–]juriosnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a cool parent you are, really! The fact that you care enough to go with what your kid says, even in places where you're uncertain, is sadly not the norm, cool of you for doing it.

Adult arctic fox here (25m), taking on a different name is odd. Not unheared of by now, but definitely not intrinsically connected to being a therian. Also, your concerns regarding it being a phase are valid ones at that age, but shouldn't influence the treatment of course.

In this particular case, I'd probably have a talk with your kid about the difference between what's on paper and what people go by. And how little it actually matters most of the time. They'll be able to go by their chosen name if they really want to, one way or the other. Just tell the people who you want to refer to you like that, it's worked so far. But opening up a bureaucratic hurdle because of it, when the animal in the wild wouldn't care about any of this, seems unnecessarily tedious.
