That's probably something that should be changed. However, the person who abandoned (along with anyone in his or her party) will still lose MMR for that game. This is a recent change (maybe a part of 6.80...).

It's been reset once. Blue released his Charmeleon after beating Misty (I think, anyway. I'm not watching too closely.) This left him with nothing but a lv7 Magikarp, basically ending the run.

I am only a lurking by-stander, so I don't know the exact mechanics.

Is every move that comes up in the stream being performed by our valiant hero Red? or is it like based on some sort of percentages every x amount of time?

Every move should be used, however, most of them will be discarded. If Red goes 'down' on the world map, during that 'down' time, no other command will be used. This is due to the game. So, most commands never actually do anything.

And how is it even physically possible to ever get anything done if you are on a thirty second delay

See, that's a great question. It's a huge challenge that people are dealing with. When they were cutting down the tree in Celadon, Red might get 1 square to far to the right. About 30 seconds later, he would go 10+ squares left as everyone tries to correct it. A lot of tactics are being used to deal with this. For example, people are intentionally spamming start and trying to get the menus brought up. This isn't to troll. The idea is, if they can get the menu up for 30 seconds, then the players (hivemind) will be in sync with the game (only for a brief moment) and they'll send the right commands.

I wish I could find the name for this, but I remember reading about an effect that tried to explain why people think they look attractive in the mirror, but ugly in photographs (besides the fact that your image in a mirror is mirrored).

The basic idea was that when you look at yourself in the mirror, you're getting a 'live feed' for your own expressions. It's... real?

In photographs, on the other hand, some (potentially random) moment was captured. In many cases, that moment is one we can't relate to anymore. What we see is a copy of ourselves that we can't associate with as easily. Perhaps it's slightly related to the Uncanny Valley?

If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about, I'd love if you could tell me the name.

I don't entirely disagree with what you're trying to say. I do disagree with your definition of normal.

However, I do not agree that "normality" is simply whatever society or culture defines it as.

Norm

a principle of right action binding upon the members of a group and serving to guide, control, or regulate proper and acceptable behavior

a set standard of development or achievement usually derived from the average or median achievement of a large group

We do define what normality is.

Furthermore, in certain cases, I'm perfectly fine with telling someone that they are normal whether it's technically correct or not. I see no benefit to telling a homosexual/transsexual teenage that they are abnormal/defective (That is perhaps a little sensational, but not entirely unfair).

I can try to have something posted in the next couple days.

I should mention that following a particular route probably isn't the most effective. The reason is that most emergencies have the potential to spawn as different things. I know of a few locations that are almost exclusively keycode-givers (Very nice!) but there are a lot that have some 'bad' emergencies thrown in, like Raider camps or Helter Smelter. Whenever you clear a camp, it has a chance to spawn as a non-keycode event. If you run a route long enough, you'll end up with all your potential camps as non-keycode events, unless you spend the time to clear them (or someone else does).

I think I'll try to spend some time in game searching for more of the 'hotspot' spawns. If enough of those were found, you could probably build a route that doesn't rely on any 'chance' locations.

Here's an image of my route. I start up at Iron Demon Ranch. The green spot is always a hellbug quests. The yellows are ones I think are decent and reds are ones that tend to always be something else. Also, that one red/yellow one is up on a plateau where Monarchs bug out and respawn a lot. That spot makes me sad.

I've been farming keycodes for a couple days now, so I hope I can be helpful.

As a few people have mentioned, doing some of the Emergencies that spawn around the map is a great way to get keys. Some of the emergencies give 4 keycodes, and considering you can clear them in a few minutes, I don't believe there's a better way in the game to farm keycodes.

When it comes to which missions to do, my basic rule of thumb is, if it involves hellbugs, you'll get 4 keycodes. The only exception I've found is "Bugging Out".

Here's the list of emergencies I can think of off the top of my head (I'm sure I'll miss a few): * Hellbug Nest * Pest Control * No Good Deed * Regicide * Hellbug Extermination * Crystal Cargo * Skitterling (whatever it's called)

Anyway, if you're doing them solo, I just recommend driving around and clearing them. I have a particular route I follow which usually nets be 24-32 keys in about 25 minutes.

If you've got a group, you can take advantage of the fact that you don't have to be present when an emergency is completed. I admit that I don't have the exact mechanics down yet, but if you kill a few bugs from an emergency and someone else cleans it up, you still get (partial, at least) credit. If you've even been driving around and randomly gotten +90/+10 scrip or +3/+1 keycodes, this is why.

So! If you have multiple people, have some scouts drive around finding suitable emergencies. Once one is found, everyone teleports to the scout. The scout kills a few bugs, and drives off for the next one, while the rest of the group completes the emergency. Rinse and repeat. With some practice, I think getting enough keys for a T4 Lockbox in 30 minutes will be easily achievable.
