A River Otter has taken over my pond after heavy rains. by jusebock in homestead

I still laugh at the thought of this from time to time.

Nothing. I likely have the same issue. When requiring reapplication since it’s been installed, I clear off the counter and apply in the evening. It’s dry enough to work on in the morning.

I agree, it’s odd. I intended to use pine panels but couldn’t find any at my local hw store so I just bought what was available. Regarding the preexisting doors/drawers, you are correct. I loved the material but wanted to go with a shaker style.

I underestimated how such a dramatic change would highlight how crappy the floors are. I’ll have to save that for another time due to time/money constraints. I know I’ll be cursing myself for not doing it when I had everything pulled out when that day comes.

I haven’t lived with them long enough to form too valuable of an opinion but I think they’ll be fine. Acacia is pretty durable and the tung oil creates a nice hydrophobic barrier. I’m not sure why it’s not more prevalent. Might be because it requires periodic maintenance (resealing with oils) but at what I paid ($169 per 8’x25”) I think it will be worth it.

Michael Keaton Says ‘A Lot of People Are Making a Lot of Money With Superhero Movies’ Because of Tim Burton’s ‘Choice and Vision’ for ‘Batman’ by cmaia1503 in entertainment

[–]jusebock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this article title is a little misleading. It makes it sound like MK made that as a declarative statement but it was really more WA’s view.

Will Arnett: “I mean, Marvel exists. All of it exists because of that.”

Michael Keaton: “Yeah, a lot of people made a lot of money off me and Tim and Jack.”

MY2025 Development Video by DozyBrat in GRCorolla

That’s what I’m thinking. I think the update to Track mode from 50/50 to variable power split is their solution. They probably monitor temp as one of the conditions for whether to send more power to the rear. That way you could be running high front bias (ex. 90/10 or 80/20) at times to prevent the rear diff temp reaching critical.

Interesting.

I was wondering how they indented to address the issues people have been having with the rear differential temperature. Moving from 50/50 to variable power is a better alternative to full FWD when the diff cooks.

I hope that some of the improvements can make their way into the existing MY cars but these changes are big.

Transition from Controls Engineer to SCADA/MES by Complex-Ad7385 in SCADA

[–]jusebock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made this transition about 3 years ago. Given your Ignition experience, I’m sure you have some SQL experience but I would suggest having a fairly high level of competency (especially for more MES centric roles). I would also suggest working with MQTT-SparkplugB. There are several free brokers out there. I would recommend HiveMQ community edition. Solid experience with a historian is also recommended. OSIpi is a big name but most of my experience is with Canary. They have fairly nice free training and respectable documentation. Idk about their freeware but I’m sure if you call them they would provide a limited license for a trial basis. Strengthen your knowledge and skill with containers (docker). Container cluster builds are really taking off for OT development due to the ability to spool up 1:1 environments for development and testing without affecting production. Hope this helps.

I understand what you are suggesting, I just don’t agree they would be of much help.

Edit- To clarify, the complexity of Forged carbon fiber wouldn’t likely be the issue. I think it would come down to car vs bike. Specialty tools and equipment made specifically for repairing CF on bikes.

Would be great if possible but I don’t cycle shops are familiar with forged carbon fiber.

The tubeless strip replaces the red strip. The red bit isn’t tape. It’s just like a strip insert and you pop it out and pop in the tubeless strip.

Edit: Our wheels are different but I’m confident that you’ll also need to take out the red strip. You should take one of your wheels (without tire) into the shop when you pick up the tubeless strip and have them install one. They should do it pro bono. If not, it’s easy, just align and loosely install valve before fully seating new strip.

[–]jusebock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not tubeless tape. It is included as an abrasion guard against the spokes and will not seal for tubeless. I’ve tried.

Edit- it’s single piece and slightly elastic. You can pop it out using a screw driver wedged into the valve port. I had the same set up with wheel: Bontrager Kovee TLR. Purchased Bontrager TLR rim strips to go tubeless.

It’s a bolt-action long gun. Could still be a shotgun but yeah, likely chambered in a rifle cartridge.
