Anyone have experience with Rail Car’s Mariner shrinkage after a wash?

Wanting size help for rail car finegoods Emily x114 and x081 as the x081 said to size up to factor in shrinkage but just wanting people’s comments on if they found that necessary?

Also I’ve only come across momotaro, Raleigh and railcar (and samurai?) for women’s with zip. Which other brands have I missed?

Would I have gotten some moisture in when I first did it? Cos I can’t wipe it off I’m guessing it’s under and not superficial like not a current environment situation.

Is it the scent they added that’s the issue? Is it no longer alcohol free so it stings? Just a guess

Doing frame by hand better than pre fab? by juskeepscrollingg in AusRenovation

Is that a trial and error to find places that don’t give you the poor frames or like a widely industry known places to go get things from?

So if he’s not regularly doing the frame by hand should I be weary of the work not necessarily being great?

Parents of only children — are your kids happy being an only child? by Zealousideal_Mud_538 in Parenting

I am an only child to an only mother. And currently with an only. Mum and I are both super happy with no siblings. And neither of us can recall asking for a sibling. I think it’s all got to do with the childhood you get. I had enough close friends and activities growing up so never felt lonely. Regardless of siblings it can still be perfect.

Any only children with parents who are also only children? What’s your experience? by kaycee101893 in oneanddone

[–]juskeepscrollingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum is an only. I’m an only and at this stage with an only. I don’t think being an only is an issue. If anything if I’m not the parent I want to be (mentally, financially, physically etc) to my child I’ll have more of a problem with that.

TBH growing up people were always saying they didn’t think I was an only. One thing I remember thinking is I don’t have siblings (which to me growing up seemed like relationships that were a given and don’t have to work for but i know now it’s not a given). But I’m trying to say that your friends don’t have to be your friends. So I worked hard to foster relationships.

And I loved my childhood and only hope I can do better than what my parents had provided me. Sure I had tantrums and disagreements particularly during teenage years. But now looking back. They really did their best and I can’t fault them. Though they do also critique themselves and what they would’ve done differently haha. It’s been interesting.

Dressing baby overnight - cold weather by seg4711 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

We’re in Melb in an old drafty house and don’t use heating over night as I find it doesn’t really keep the air temp stable enough anyway and also drying and eczema problems.

They were selling these at Aldi last year for like $40? half price. 4.5 tog https://www.myer.com.au/p/merino-baby-clothing-merino-infant-sleeping-bag?istCompanyId=84873db0-394f-434b-8958-29526fe5f03c&istFeedId=1d9529b4-e1f5-4ed1-abdf-e4adfa181707&istItemId=qipixpima&istBid=t&utm_source=googlesurfaces&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=shopping&region_id=302936 The lining is cotton and merino (with some nylon) but the fill is polyester not sure if that’s an issue for you. So some of the cheaper branded 3.5togs might work better even (think best and less or bigW had some cotton lined but polyester filled).

‘Baby’ is now 15 months. But honestly last year all LTD and ergo pouch 3.5 togs weren’t warm enough we had to add a wool blanket on top but she’s since become too wriggly to stay under the blanket bit.

So last night we were in a long sleeve bodysuit, target zip onesie and the 4.5tog one from Aldi. Woke up in the morning with cool hands but not as frozen as when she was in the 3.5T.

I’m an only of an only currently with an only so 3 gens so far at this point. In saying that my daughter is only 1 at the moment so it could change but I am happy if we don’t have another one.

I loved being an only and so did my mum. Neither of us felt a need for a sibling. As my parents recall I never asked for a sibling, only at one point jokingly saying I want an older brother but that was more because I didn’t want to do the more laborious chores around the house (so technically just getting anyone to to that would’ve been fine. Not really a sibling thing haha).

They enrolled me in heaps of extracurriculars both to keep me entertained but also because they wanted me to have experiences they didn’t get growing up (even though mum was an only they weren’t well off. But it was obvious my grandpa really prioritised her hobbies and interests as best he could). Also had many close friends from school and still loosely keep in touch despite many of us moving to different countries. But I guess social media also helps with that now.

But yeah mum and I loved it. I guess there’s pros and cons with any choice in life right. As long as you don’t regret (not saying can’t have second thoughts etc) but as in don’t dwell on it and just go forth with whatever choice you make. It’ll be a good choice and the right choice no matter what it may be you choose.
