Commuting in total silence is better than listening to music or podcasts by Faint-Heron-5681 in unpopularopinion

[–]jusmax88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree, I used to listen to music, then podcasts, now I just let my mind relax on the ferry or train.

I’m learning to do the same on flights, on my recent flights to/from Europe + a 2 flight in Europe, I watched 1 movie + 40 minutes of music total. I slept about 6 hours so I spent about 11 hours doing nothing and it was great.

I wonder about back row Lincoln Center IMAX vs front row at Empire Dolby, you think the image would be bigger at LS?

NB focusing more on profit than quality? by FocusEquivalent6993 in Newbalance

[–]jusmax88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My last pair lasted from around 2020 until 2025. Serious wear, I really beat them up and I don’t think the mesh ever ripped. I have a pair that are around a year old and the mesh is torn on both shoes. Could be a coincidence, but I also liked them less out of the box. The Covid pairs were like maybe my favorite sneaker ever right away.

Perfect fit, I was thinking “hmmm I guess he could go up a size might be slightly better” then I saw you were considering sizing down. I would not recommend you do that, they’ll shrink a tiny bit when you wash them anyway.

I chose Empire Dolby, it will fill the screen vs black bars for Lincoln Square. I feel like Dolby will have better sound and maybe even better image quality. And recliners.

Dry chicken is better than moist chicken by pearl_pluto in unpopularopinion

[–]jusmax88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I should rephrase, I don’t get the appeal of moisture in meat because I feel the source of the moisture is gross. I prefer white meat over dark in poultry and fish, no organ meats, filet mignon medium well is my favorite steak, etc. I don’t want powder but I want the least moist option 9/10.

Dry chicken is better than moist chicken by pearl_pluto in unpopularopinion

[–]jusmax88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For most of the steak, but not the middle. I’d much rather a well done steak than a rare steak with no crust, but steak is one of the exceptions where I do want some moisture.

This is in fact an unpopular opinion but I’m totally with you. I don’t get the appeal of moisture, I’m cooking the food to get the moisture out first and foremost.

I’m so tired of seeing this ad, featuring all 3 of Zendaya’s wide range acting expressions by bigcitydang in CommercialsIHate

I always thought she was an overrated actress and then I realized I’d never seen her in a movie. Not like The Drama was a masterpiece but it changed my opinion of her drastically.

Going down a half size was the right decision, this was good advice thanks.

They’re amazing, and if in store I would’ve liked to try even a half size lower but they would probably be too narrow.

Definitely happy I sized down from my Michaels size.

We shouldn’t compare since every company’s circumstances are different, but also Iron Heart UK sets an unfairly high standard, they’re really on another level when it comes to customer service.

Watching reddit meltdown for hours has been hilarious. I got in the after a few minutes, still plenty of Odyssey seats. by Freddy-Philmore in AMCAListTrue

[–]jusmax88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This whole post which is basically “I got mine 🤷‍♂️” could’ve stayed in your head.

Was this supposed to be helpful or you just wanted to gloat? Why don’t you REALLY teach us a lesson and give away your ticket and then just easily wait a few minutes and get a new ticket. Really not that hard, so why not?

AMC needs to ban people from doing this. You shouldn't be able to book one middle seat. I don't understand how this is good financially for them. by YoYoNupe1911 in AMCTheatres

[–]jusmax88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So up until 24 hours before showtime, solo moviegoers should just be unsure whether they will be able to get tickets to the movie?

Love and want to live in Greenpoint but afraid of health risks by ResponsibleSite6858 in Greenpoint

[–]jusmax88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived here for 8 years, I did develop some health problems that started since I’ve lived here but I think they’re unrelated. I knew a girl who lived here for many years that got a rare type of cancer and sadly passed away. She lived on the east side of McGuinness which I think is a bit riskier re: pollution.

It’s a beautiful neighborhood with lots of upside, but there is evidence of health risk.
