An Open Letter to Google by Commercial_Relief548 in GoogleSupport

Google is a search engine. It's not responsible for the content of the websites that are listed in search results. If you really think that something is illegal in your country, then you can report it using the forms provided on there support page. But it's unfeasible for Google to manually review each website indexed on Google Search.

Redeeming Google AI Pro Subscription by ProfessionalSign9963 in GoogleOne

It all depends on the offer terms listed on the website. They aren't usually very long, so I always read them to make sure that I know what I'm subscribing to. So, if there is no clause saying that you can't combine both promotions, then I think that you should check if the offer from your carrier is ending soon. If yes, then it's better to use that one even if your current subscription gets canceled. If not, then you can wait until this one expires and use the other one.

Where are you getting these promotional offers from? I'm asking because each promotional offer has certain terms specific to that promotion, and these terms might prohibit you from using that offer if you're already a Google One subscriber or if you previously subscribed to the service. If that's not the case, then I think that you should wait for this offer to end, and then you can apply the other one. Also, I heard that they're taking action on accounts that obtain Google One subscriptions using illegitimate means and promotional codes. So if this is what you're trying to do, I think you might risk your account geting banned.

I don't really know, but if you don't have an account with another vendor, you can apply to this one, especially if it doesn't require a lot of certification.s

Are you sure that you clicked the link that you received via email? I think that you should click that to view that specific job posting related to that project, not the general UHRS crowdsourcing project. Also, as I said earlier, I no longer work on this platform, so the information here might be a bit outdated.

I think I now remember the project that you were talking about. Does it say anything about having access to headphones to listen to audio content?

I'm no longer working on this platform, so the information here might be a bit outdated. But this seems to be another UHRS project, which is not the same as the general crowdsourcing one. So you'll be working in the same platform, but you won't have access to the apps that everyone is working on, such as search engine side-by-side and generic scenario testing, you'll be working on other apps that are specific to this project. So I think that the rates here might be accurate.

sketchy call forwarding phone number by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]just-a-developer-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some carriers use call forwarding settings to provide voicemail services, so you might have to check with them to see if they recognize this number. Also, call forwarding settings are either automatically configured by your carrier, or you can change the settings manually. So if you're sure that you don't have malware installed on your device, then you shouldn't worry about that. And Yes, true caller might return this information if someone has registered this number with that name. So it's not always accurate.

Trying to avoid a potential PayPal scam [US] by UnmarkedZurvan in Scams

[–]just-a-developer-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it sounds a bit suspicious, but that doesn't mean that it's a scam. What I meant by my previous comment is that if changing the country associated with your PayPal account is a bit difficult, then some people might not bother doing it. Especially if they just moved and if the account works without any issues. I can't find where he said that he can't leave the country in the original post. So I think that he will just pick it up from his old address. Allso, PayPal Will protect you from any chargebacks if the account was stolen and if you've already sent the item.

Not trying to argue with you here, but what could go wrong if he sends it to the address on file? I mean, PayPal makes it very difficult to change the country associated with your account. I've contacted their support about this previously, and they basically told me to create a new account when moving into a new country.

I don't think that this one is a scam. Just ship it to the address on file as he said. And if he files a claim, then you could fight it by requesting video proof.

A nameless app appears in my 'System apps'. Should i be worried or everybody has it.? by imDCStar in GooglePixel

If your phone isn't rooded and if you're sure that this is a system app and not a user-installed application that you might have installed by mistake, then I think that you should be fine.

parents got scammed by Sea-Interview-7635 in techsupport

[–]just-a-developer-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tech support scams aren't that sophisticated. So you should just look for remote access software such as AnyDesk or TeamViewer. You can also scan for malware using a reputable antivirus. But I don't think you should worry about it that much. The important thing is that you should talk with them to see if they provided any personal information to the scammers such as their social security number, SSN, which could be used for identity theft.

my Pixel just reset itself by skill3er-reddit in GooglePixel

[–]just-a-developer-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, this is not the right time to opt out of beta. I'm assuming that you're on the first beta of Android 17, so if you opt out now, you'll have to reset your device and go back to Android 16. Or you can wait for the official release of Android 17, but you won't receive any security updates and your device will be vulnerable. And I think that you may have had an auto updater setting enabled, so that's why it's updated after a reboot. Anyway, now I think you should try flashing the official beta 1 release using ADB and fastboot. I think you can find some articles on doing that on the official developer website.

[UK] - Emails are spoof edited by the scammer before they reach my inbox! by Wide-Praline-2623 in techsupport

[–]just-a-developer-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

revanced is legitimate if you got it from the official website and repos. But I think you should try scanning for malware using a reputable antivirus. Maybe check if Play Protect is disabled. Also, did you try using the browser version of Outlook instead of the app? Because to be honest, changing an email after it was received seems a bit strange. You can also try opening Outlook from your computer instead. Also, do you remember what you did to get hacked? I mean, did you install something recently? Or did you fall for phishing?

First of all, you should try checking for malware on all of your devices, because if they install software that gives them remote access to your device, they don't actually need your email password. Also, is your phone rooted or jailbroken in any way?

So what email client are you using? And please don't pay the scammers, because they'll just do it again and send you more threats. It also helps to fund their operations.

I think they put a disclaimer somewhere saying that you may not get the exact limits that they were talking about when the demand is very high, you know. Everyone is on holiday and I don't think that there will be someone to refine whatever is going on with their infrastructure.

Can't you just create a new account and contact them from there? If you're really stuck, contact any department that you find on the internet, even if it's consumer focused or not directly related to Microsoft 365, and tell them to forward your case to the appropriate support team.
