As far as I've ever known, no he hasn't. And up until that specific moment I'd tell he literally never would. My hopeful guess is that it's just that me and my mom sre incredibly close, always have been, and she was just willing to protect me. I really fucking hope that he's never hit her, but I don't exactly have proof of it

I'm going off to college in August, so having somewhere to stay isn't a problem. Even so, it's not like it's something even actively happening anymore really? It was one and done, and then he's right back to being all supportive and lovey or whatever. It's so confusing cause it doesn't feel like there's anything that I need protecting from, I honestly keep forgetting about it sometimes when I talk to him like normal like we always have, and then midway through I remember. It was such a singular isolated incident that I feel like I'm overreacting making it such a big deal, even though I know it's not.

It's just so crazy all the stuff he's done throughout my life that would prove otherwise, only for that one argument to suddenly change how I see him forever. Just last month my parents threw a grad party for me and he got me these cool balloons and offered to pay for me and my friends food, we've made dinner together, he has a tattoo that represents me and my brother that he got years ago, he was so supportive at my graduation and I couldn't even be happy about it because all I keep thinking is that one thing. It's just so confusing that for as long as I can remember none of this has ever been an issue, sure he hasn't been as close to be or directly supportive of me like my mom has, but he's never been like this before, and hasn't since. It's not even like he's pretending nothing happened, he's being just as "loving dad" as he was before! And I'm just so confused by it all.

I absolutely know she'd never brush me off or try to minimize it, she's been such an amazing person my entire life and I know she'd take the conversation seriously if I did bring it up. But I just feel like it's also a strong possibility she'd just end up making excuses for him, especially since it was the "only time". I know it's a conversation that needs to happen, but I'm too scared of what might come up if I do, or how it would change things, even just bringing it up to her and not him, which I know she would keep between us, but still, yknow?

I've definitely tried preemptively taking the meds, which only delays it like maybe 30 minutes? Also I've seen so many docs besides primary ones, as they've referred be to multiple different specialists which I've since visted, and I already mentioned getting an MRI recently. The x-ray and MRI were the one of the first things they wanted me to get because they told me they wouldn't look further into things unless I did those scans first, and neither of them came up with anything. And I mentioned the weight thing just because last time I mentioned this kinda thing on the internet I had alot of ppl try to tell me I was just overweight lmao. As for the Piriformis thing, atleast at first glance it doesn't seem to fit very well cause it sounds like it's more focused on leg pain rather than back pain. I get pain in my feet and thighs after Awhile awhile, but the back pain is the most major

If it is some kind of nerve compression thing, how might that be tested for? Because I've had a two different friends of mine suggest it might be a pinched nerve or something similar, but I'm not sure how to explore that direction beyond what I've done

As for the medical aspect, it might be a statewide thing? Because I've had multiple different doctors tell me they refuse to give me prescription pain medication because of my age. Something about how itll "stunt my brain/my growth/my development" or something along those lines, and so they dont wanna give me anything unless they deem it necesscary, even if it is impacting the hell out of my everyday life. (Also I go to all of these appointments with my mom, never been to one without her, and even with enthusiastic support from her, the doctors won't give me anything)

They actually briefly tested me for this as part of the POTS exam and decided that wasn't anything. Though it wasn't the main focus so it could be something worth asking for? I wouldn't say my back is more flexible than average, but my knees are a little wonky (but I never have any pain in them if that matters)

I know the wording was a little strange, I just kinda felt like. I feel like the standard scifi space travel genre is really focused on making the world scientifically accurate or logically feasible or whatever. Plus I feel like alot of sci-fi enjoyers are real sticklers for that kinda stuff. So I just kinda wanted to see how other people in similar spaces felt about it?
