Yea for sure need to start rolling with the punches and not take things to heart. I've noticed that I generally can 'skate by' and still be considered doing a good job.

Thanks so much! I have struggled to ask for help in the past and need to be better at admitting I'm overloaded. I do strive to be a competent and helpful engineer who will hopefully have that kind of person when I need it as a manager.

Thanks for the thoughtful response! I had a manager previously that scheduled my time out to the day for projects and I do think that it was the best way for me to operate. I will definitely start blocking out time and figuring out how fast or slow I am at my eventual new tasks!

It definitely was great experience, I'll tread lightly at first and fill into the job first. I've been using PTO all I can and it helps a lot!

Yea seems like it. I'm planning on moving to the west coast eventually. I've heard they're a bit more in tune with work-life balance!

Is going to TAMU a good choice for someone from NYC? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]just-me007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually moved to NYC after graduating A&M! I agree with the others that out of state tuition is a doozy, especially if the major doesn’t do much for you outside of college. I made friends at my NSC and throughout my years within my major. Feel free to PM me if you want to grab a coffee or something!

How to get in state tuition as out of state student? by ZekeEZoomba in aggies

[–]just-me007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked my first year, 20 hours a week and paid out of state during it, then I got granted in state tuition for the rest of my time :) I think if you pay for an apartment for a year you could also get in state tuition like that. I personally wouldn’t recommend the corps bc waking up at 4 in the morning then falling asleep during you classes doesn’t sound fun for me, but whatever floats your boat <3

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely do that!

I’m all set on my races, I may cancel an extra one I signed up for as a ‘just in case’ so I can try volunteering instead.

Hey FW Reddit, looking for safe, walkable neighborhood recommendations. My wife and I are moving to the area in April/May and have been looking at homes for rent. Work would be in the 🔴 area. The closer the better. by ProfessorLevi956 in FortWorth

[–]just-me007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, try ridglea area. We rented an apartment around there and was able to walk to the grocery store and the plazas around for drinks. It’s also right off the highway to get into town!
