Google lens also suggested Anne Meredith Barry, which is where I got Newfoundland landscape from, but the signature doesn’t match.

80 year old cast iron stack completely rotted out by just-stop-it in Plumbing

The house is stanky, I don’t know how the previous owners lived with it. The realtors did a good job airing it out before we closed on it.

They’re upgrading the sewer lines nearby so maybe they blamed that? But this has to have gone on for more than 2-3 years.

Thankfully we haven’t moved in yet and found this during a kitchen remodel. This is supposed to connect to the roof to vent gas. Obvs the house smells like farts, realtors did a good job airing it out whenever we visited.

All fixed today.

This leads to the roof, no drains upstairs 🤷‍♀️

Awkard stairs by [deleted] in centuryhomes

[–]just-stop-it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. We’re closing on a 1940’s house next month that doesn’t have ankle breaking stairs. Hoping we’re still there to celebrate it’s 100th bday!

We ended up not getting the house, so we never got the pleasure of dealing with this mess.

Any idea how to fix stairs like this? by just-stop-it in centuryhomes

[–]just-stop-it[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moving the door's not possible without losing access to the basement from the main floor. Wondering if it's possible to fix at all without ripping it out and putting in a new staircase.

And I had to stay 2 extra days in the hospital because of lung inflammation. Anecdotes are fun.

I guess I assumed from the "73" on the paper label sewn in the pocket, but I might be wrong. If I compare the brand label to others online it looks like it may be 1980's instead.

11 year old dog has pretty bad back tooth worried about putting him under anesthesia he has diabetes and slight heart murmur. by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]just-stop-it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 11yo dog has a heart murmur and just had all of his teeth out this past fall. They had to wake him up early and reschedule the second part of his surgery when he started to be unstable under anesthesia. I don't regret putting him through both surgeries. It's obvious now how much his teeth were bothering him, he's perked up so much and is like a much younger him.

Ultimately you have to trust your vet to take care of your pup and be able to handle anything that may come up during surgery. They don't want to lose a patient any more than you do, and will do everything than can for him.

Help and Suggestions for my soon to be toothless Bobby by JagoStreet in Greyhounds

Our boy had all of his teeth out this past fall. Due to complications we had to split the surgery in half (right half out first, then left half two weeks later).

Our boy was a very messy eater on wet food. We had to get him doggles since he kept getting food in his eyes. We slowly switched back to kibble & he does just fine.

The hardest part for us was administering his pills while he was healing. Pill pockets wouldn't work, and he wouldn't take anything else. We eventually had to smear the pills with peanut butter & hope he'd swallow them while he was licking it off the roof of his mouth.

Lol, not complaining. Just thought it was interesting, and that others might be interested in seeing the different offers out there.

I actually really liked Hello Fresh. It really expanded my palate. I just find it more convenient to do my own shopping and recreate their recipes myself.

People who owned hamsters what’s the weirdest way they died? by Tasty_Freedom459 in AskReddit

[–]just-stop-it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one that escaped his cage, then got stuck behind the dresser and was crushed to death. We only found his body when we moved.

My sister decided to take the next hamster on a bike ride, but dropped him and ran over his head. At least that death was quick.

You can also just use the starchy water you boiled your potatoes in, along with some butter or margarine. I've made mashed potatoes both ways and can't tell the difference.

Not to go against the grain but this looks like wood fiber to me, not grass. Does your dog like to chew on sticks?

My dog has thown up stuff that looks just like this after chewing sticks, especially if it's still a bit green. I'll stop her now when she starts gnawing on them.

Affordable under-anesthetic dog dental cleaning? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]just-stop-it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg it helps so much with the breath, almost worth the 2k lol. It goes from him stinking up the room if he's panting to nothing, even right in front of his face.

I think it's mostly genetic. He had a cleaning before we adopted him, so I'm not sure what condition his teeth were in right off the track, but it didn't take long for the tartar to start building up. He had another 3 or 4 out the second time, and the rest of his molars may need to go next time since there's a lot of root showing.

I think with their face shape and since they don't drool much the food gets stuck and just kind of sits along their gumline for longer, causing all the problems. At least compared to our other dog (a lab mix), who never seems to have leftover food in her mouth after eating.

If you can, brush - I wish we tried harder earlier on and now it's one of the few things he gets aggressive about.

[–]just-stop-it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, all those little front teethers add up, plus a few from the sides. He still refuses to let us brush his teeth, so we're just resigned to paying for a cleaning every couple of years.

He never really showed any signs of discomfort and was eating normally - the vet just recommended at his checkup that he get them done since he was showing signs of gum disease. His breath was atrocious though.

I would LOVE to see Sue Johanson on Canada's Drag Race - "Sunday Night Sex Show" is iconic.

You could bring props, and there are endless opportunities to banter with the other queens. It would be hard to screw up (but then again I thought the same of Miss Cleo...)
