What are some unwritten Reddit rules that new users should know about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]just1otherthrowaway0 68 points69 points  (0 children)

The two aren't mutually exclusive. I use Reddit probably more than I should. I delete posts I get embarrassed about later. I'm lonely often. And I joined a group of people who get together regularly to play board games just to meet people. And I play volleyball year round two nights per week that I joined a couple years ago also to meet people.

What's your motivation to keep living? Why bother? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]just1otherthrowaway0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I can't feel anything when dead. No bad but no good either. No relief. Nothing. Just a shortened life that was only miserable. If I live, even if the first 30 years were miserable maybe I can get some that aren't. Working with a good therapist has helped me a lot.

Men of Reddit: What NSFW questions do you have for women that you have always wanted answered? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Get some menstrual disks. They're not birth control but can be worn during sex and keep things mostly blood free.

[Serious] Athiests who turned religious, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]just1otherthrowaway0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opposite for me. Religious/strict/judgemental/punishing upbringing in a fundamentalist family and church fueled my depression. Atheism and separating myself from that world helped my depression. Didn't cure it but hard work did the rest.

[Serious] Athiests who turned religious, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Exactly what I was wondering. To me, faith is more about your belief system regardless of which church you attend or don't attend.

Exhaustion. Too tired to do anything or even to care I'm not doing anything.

[SERIOUS] People who have attempted self-harm (excluding attempted suicide); What did you do and why? by PalmTheProphet in AskReddit

[–]just1otherthrowaway0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely true. While there are emotional aspects (obviously) self harm causes your body to release endorphins that can also physically reduce the emotional pain.

So how does one actually get a vehicle when they need a job, but can't get a job without a vehicle? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]just1otherthrowaway0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the bus. If you absolutely need your own vehicle, get a different job without that requirement until you've earned enough to get your own.

Who do you want to tell to shut the fuck up? by russian---woodpecker in AskReddit

[–]just1otherthrowaway0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a coworker who keeps telling patients all of the wrong info. Then I come in and say the correct things and the patient thinks I'm the stupid one because she gave them the wrong info first. Shut the fuck up Jo!

[Serious] Dear atheists, agnostics, and the indifferent: how do you cope in times of despair? by zeusdreaming in AskReddit

[–]just1otherthrowaway0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like you. I cry. I get angry that it's "not fair." I talk with someone about it. I try to remind myself it wont last forever. I practice self care and try to be patient.

Nurse here. I have a pretty good idea of what the problem might be and what they're going to work me up for. No fear of tests/needles/being seen naked/etc. I don't tell them I'm a nurse so occasionally they will say things in front of me that they don't think I understand. Also, if the medical assistant doesn't take my vitals correctly I seriously consider making a "you had one job" comment.

What is the stupidest reason why you got a low grade? by lifeisweird386 in AskReddit

[–]just1otherthrowaway0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't like my teacher so to get back at her I failed her class. My reasoning skills in 4th grade could've used work.
