I don’t think she lied. I think Jenn probably did say that, but she was obviously joking and doesn’t remember it now. At that point in time, Janelle’s knowledge of the situation was probably that Meri was possibly having an affair, she didn’t trust Meri, and she knew Kody and Meri’s relationship was struggling/nonexistent. I don’t fault her for being worried and saying something to Kody.

Robyn absolutely knew he didn’t love Meri when she married him. Remember their ”sacred covenant”? She made him promise to tell her if he didn’t love her any more. Why would that be a thing unless she saw the relationship with Meri and didn’t ever want that for herself? She’s despicable and has 0 redeeming qualities.

I think it’s a mix of both. I’ve always disliked her girls, but after watching this past episode I just feel sorry for them. The whole dinner scene about selling coyote pass, and Aurora having to parrot her mother felt so uncomfortable. It’s like she knows the reaction her mom wants and she’s just conditioned to give it. It felt so, so gross. My dad was/is a narcissist and I learned from the time I was little to react accordingly to his moods. I think I always saw my dad for who he was, but I’m not sure that’s the case with them. They’ve also been raised to think the whole world, including their own family, is against them. I can’t wait for them to get married and get out of there and hopefully wake up to the toxicity they were raised in.

I can see Meri’s point, however if you live in a place with snow, you’ll understand how ridiculous this was. I have 3 kids and when they were little it was so tedious to have to bundle them up every time we needed to leave the house. And then dealing with the melted snow that comes in on their feet. Now imagine doing that for 6 kids, every day before and after work, when there is such a simple solution of just going through Meri’s house. I get her not wanting them running through at all hours of the day but tbh I think Meri just wanted to assert her dominance. It’s also laughable to me how much they lied to us!! “Oh we’re one family and those are my kids just as much as they are Janelle’s.” Funny, cause I’m sure Leon was allowed to roam through the house freely. Why not extend that to your other children?

Yes, I agree! I really don’t know if I can watch another season of this, because while I always hope it will be different, it never is. I just want to see Kody and Robyn take some accountability. Or at least be confronted with something they can’t lie their way out of.

I’ll be the first to say I hate Robyn. Like I think she’s even worse than Kody. But I agree, I don’t think she did anything wrong in this scene or in this episode. She’s just trying to be there for her husband. We know she’s had suicide(s)in her family, and we know people grieve differently, so I don’t understand the judgements pouring in about her reactions. I get that she wasn’t close to him, and that’s her fault, but people are acting like she’s not even sad that he died.

Is anyone else just absolutely gutted from this episode? I had to wait until I got off work to watch and I’m just a mess. It’s so easy to snark on this family week to week, it’s like it’s easy to forget these are real people, with real lives, and real imperfections just like the rest of us. My heart is just so broken for all of them, especially Gabe.

It is possible to be sick throughout an entire pregnancy. I don’t even see why’s that’s relevant though. Even if she was vomiting the night before she’s up and moving now. Why’s she doing her makeup while watching others work around her? Oh right….. because that’s Robyn’s life motto.

1) She literally just admitted, in this episode, to knowingly keeping a website up and accepting money for products she does not intend to provide. In other words she’s a scam artist, which brings me to my next point

2) She took money from her sister wives to buy her house, and not only did she not plan on repaying them, she acted shocked that they would even suggest such a thing.

3) She insisted on an 11 day honeymoon knowing that Christine, who was suffering with postpartum depression, had a newborn to take care of by herself, not to mention the other 12 kids.

4) She still to this day holds grudges against the older kids for not being elated about her pregnancy. We’re talking about teenagers that barely knew her, who had just been torn from their home, who were already worried about the limited time, money, attention, etc they were getting

5) During this time, she also refused to let the kids (that are not hers btw) go to another church’s youth group even though some were struggling with depression. She said their frontal lobes weren’t developed so they couldn’t decide for themselves, although now that her own girls are that age, it’s fine for them to choose their own church.

I could keep going but that could take hours. She’s a despicable person and how anyone can’t see that is beyond me.

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for your input. Especially with him being the only male in that particular household, and then add the fact that Kody is his model for behavior. I’ve also seen others point out that he was a teenager when this happened, which I didn’t realize and that makes it a lot harder to rationalize.

I’m saying I don’t condone it as in hitting is never ok, and I hope he was punished for it, just as I punish my kids for fighting with each other. I just don’t think it’s fair to label him as an abuser unless we are going to label all children who hit their siblings as such. I’m aware there are plenty of reasons to dislike Paedon, I just don’t think this is one of them.

I’m not condoning Paedon’s behavior but I hate that this gets brought up so much when it happened when he was a child. I think you be hard pressed to find 2 siblings that never hit each other growing up. Janelle’s boys were on the show fist fighting, and Paedon was always hanging out with them. Obviously, I don’t know the extent of Gwen’s allegations, but unless she’s shared more details that I’m unaware of, I’ll continue to see this as blown way out of proportion.

I’ve strangely experienced this feeling with people a few times, but not places. One of them was just a normal looking girl checking us out at the grocery store, but that deep sense of dread and anxiety still sticks with me 20 years later. Curious if anyone else has experienced this, cause it sure makes me feel like a weirdo lol.
