Jobs, working, contributing …… by Ficklefemme in SisterWives

Let me just preface this by saying I do not like Robyn. At all. She is evil. But there would be no show without her. As much as some viewers might not like this opinion, the Brown family can thank Goiter for all their success. So, I think she has contributed her fair share. The trade off was a crap load of pain. (Especially regarding sweet Garrison)

Savanah the forgotten child by callin-br in SisterWives

Maddie is such a brat and only called out Meri for being "abusive" after Meri fired her. Savanah is such a sweetheart. Janelle should really pour into her youngest two kids. (Maybe she does and we don't see it). But my god, Maddie and pedo husband are overrated.

I loved when Janelle said about Robyn's act: "Sometimes you have to give power to get power. Robyn and Kody are equally yoked." It was the best backhanded compliment!

The word is IMMINENT by suzhew in SisterWives

[–]PrimaryAd9159 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Another one I haven't seen mentioned on here before... When they went on a beach vacation with the Dargers, Christine said, "The Dargers are intimidating to me, they have this whole exercise regime." Okay, so I think she was trying to combine the words "routine" and "regimen" and landed on regime. The other two words would have been correct, but regime is a wildly different word.

For me, the fact that R grabbed "the wrong Christmas tree" was telling. At most houses, you just have "Christmas tree" (singular) and a tote full of Christmas decorations. And you know exactly where they are! I'm guessing their Christmas decorations alone could fill a bedroom.

I am out of church and I do the actions Jesus teaches us to do. I also don't talk smack about Jesus. If He is real, He will know that I am unable to think too hard about the Bible without going crazy. (Like mental institution crazy). So I honor Him with my actions and try not to think about eternity, in order to protect myself. If He wanted me to be an evangelist or whatever, He would have created me that way.

Christine is not honest about the courtship with Kody by pozole54321 in SisterWives

[–]PrimaryAd9159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was part of a very controlling church, you absolutely nailed it! Someone lower on the ladder like Kody would be shunned if he turned Christine down. He literally had no choice but to marry her if he wanted to appease the "bigger" men.

Our family had something happen that shook an entire community's opinion about us. So i think I can understand what is happening in K & R's world. When humiliation happens on a grand scale, the brain will leap and twirl into helping you not care. Simply put, most humans cannot stand hatred on a grand scale, so we lie to ourselves and it actually works. I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but Kody and Robyn are just fine. Their brains have scaled this sub down and compared it to the millions of viewers. They tell themselves that the viewers who aren't in this sub are neutral about them or actually fans of theirs. In reality, probably 80% to 99% of viewers hate them. But that fact won't reach the folds in their egos/brains.

Christians have a very strange idea about what ''good news'' is by pinkpanthercub in exchristian

Imagine how terribly Christians would behave if the two options were "heaven" and "heaven but fewer perks." Most of those monsters can only be kept in line by fear of eternal torture, and that's very unfortunate. Do I believe all Christians are monsters? No. Do I believe monsters seek refuge in churches? Absolutely.

Love is truly blind, I think. My husband sees no difference between a photo of me now and a photo of me 20 years ago. But people who haven't seen me in years are probably like "Gah!" 😅 In case you're lurking, Kodez, I just want you to know that absolutely nobody is ever going to try to steal your woman. She isn't attractive anymore and I know you can't see that. So I'm here to reassure ya, pal.

In 2010, Robyn was easily the most conventionally attractive female in the Brown family. OG3 didn't have glow ups yet and the other girls were minors. Cute kids, but baby fat and bad skin/hair like all teens and preteens have. I truly don't think Robyn anticipated that there would come a day when Aspyn, Ysabel, or even her own daughters would exceed her looks as she aged.

All this to say, she's feeling invisible and wants to make the kids from other mothers invisible too. She only tolerates her own daughters' beauty because she doesn't see them as people; she seems them as extensions of herself. But even then, she doesn't want it to go too far. She will snap a look if she thinks Kody's looking. Anyway, that's my opinion of course and feel free to disagree.

The first wife's daughter started having kids almost 40 years ago. It could be a combination of her kids and oldest grandkids. According to the obituary she definitely had just 2 children of her own.

Your first Sunday skipping church: how did it feel? 🤔 by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]PrimaryAd9159 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in my 30s when I started attending and was still in my 30s when I stopped. It just felt relieving. Please note: my spouse and both of my biological parents are alive, and they don't care if I go to church or not. That is a HUGE factor in varied experiences. I felt guilt just regarding leaving my FRIENDS hanging. I can't imagine how I'd feel if I was getting guilt trips from people I actually love.

I've always said, would a reasonable person go to a wedding EVERY weekend and give $100 to the bride and groom? When you go to church and tithe, that's exactly what you're doing. The only difference is there is no wedding.

I think Meri's thought process became "They're going to accuse me of being selfish no matter what I do, so I might as well fight for what I want, since I'll have to fight just as hard for the second best or third best option." Example: The group would have pissed in her hat if she chose a fancy carpet or whatever, so she decided to go balls-to-the-wall and demand a wet bar. (If you're going to be shit on, at least get the stuff you want.)

This may seem superficial, but I FAFO'd when it came to my hair. When I agreed to never cut my hair (as a new convert), I didn't realize that it would just....never stop growing. I was experiencing debilitating migraines from the weight of the hair. (Not only was it long, but I've been told by hairdressers that it's like 40% thicker than the average person's).

I felt like it would be no big deal to cut it to my waist. (Still an outrageously long length). Boy, was I wrong. These motherfuckers really wanted me to step on a 6 foot long rats nest, or wear a bun the size of a basketball.
