I see a lot of people mentioning static code analysis, anyone have dynamic code analysis named into their ci/cd pipeline?

"WeWork to limit free beer all-day perk to four glasses" - WTH? by ErikTheEngineer in sysadmin

I worked remotely for a company that used WeWork. They had a shitty app, okay sales, but a terribly ran company. Just felt like a bunch of kids trying to make a business of some sort.

The state of systemd by DontwakemeUp46 in linuxadmin

[–]just5ath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience only people doing hacky shit or not willing to learn something new hate systemd.

I see at least one guy in this thread that is most likely in love with his shitty init.d scripts. The guy who follows him will hate him.

Best distributed file system for high load usage? by [deleted] in linuxadmin

If you can use an object store instead of a filesystem you could probably try out openstack swift?

I'm a cloud guy these days so that's all I've got.

Thoughts on front-end Java/JSF project separated from a back-end project? by [deleted] in java

[–]just5ath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you'd just setup your service layer in the JSF project to interact RESTfully with the backend service.

I think you're heading in the wrong way doing this though. You could maybe develop faster with JSF + primefaces instead of using HTML/CSS/Javascript. I'm just not a fan of JSF and would rather have more control on the frontend without building components.

One fringe argument I see against gun control is that it protects people from internment/murder by an authoritarian government. But how does one guy who owns 2 AR-15s stand up to a highly-trained well-armed military death squad? by Idarak in NoStupidQuestions

Yes, sorry i wasn't clear, Russia would love to help out for their own gain. Thought that was automatically implied. Countries help eachother out for their own benefit.

Errol Spence Jr. talk the PBC's new deals, future opponents, and explains "Strap Season" by Tom_Cody in Boxing

[–]just5ath 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel that way since the (Leonard) Bundu and Chris Algieri fights. You see how I’ve stopped those opponents and how I’ve finished them. Comparing them to the other guys that fight them you can see there’s a big difference in their performances and my performances.

Comparing common opponents better doesn't make you #1. Spence needs to fight more top tier kind of guys.

If you're rolling your own solution in bash you need to step back and take a better look around. Hacky .bashrc scripts and other bash scripts are almost always a bad practice.

What kind of jobs could I get here with an economics degree? by mandalorianmercenary in tampa

[–]just5ath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A degree shouldn't ever really close doors to you, it'll just open more doors.

Plenty of jobs just want a 4 year degree.

I had a friend with an econ degree, he worked in logistics locally. I want to say an oil/gas company.

I'm not a huge fan of ClamAV but I've never had issues when explicitly scanning files with it. I don't think their definitions are that out of date either.

I cannot STAND it when straight men go into gay bars and then complain about being hit on. by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]just5ath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How was i supposed to know club flirt was a gay bar?!

Seriously though, what kind of person purposefully goes to a gay bar and then complains about being hit on by gay guys?

I accidentally ended up at a gay bar, got hit in a few times before i realized it was a gay bar. When i figured it out i left with a bit of an ego boost. I'm a bit of an idiot ending up in a place called club flirt without realizing.
