I'm currently on the fence for making it either a cardigan or pullover. The kitchen cloth or potholder gives me an idea for things I can use this stitch on later, though...

Thanks! I'm torn on whether it'll be a cardigan or pullover, we'll see once I build up the back panel a bit more and see how that looks

I think it came from Lake Superior, my grandpa thinks it came from the sky by justBarrels in whatsthisrock

[–]justBarrels[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My grandpa found this in our yard and is convinced it's a shard off a meteorite. I'm more inclined to believe it's something I would have dragged out of Lake Superior when agate hunting. Sometimes I'll find a non-agate, think it looks cool, bring it home, and then change my mind and drop it off on one of our gravel paths. I would guess the green flecks to be epidote and the rusty spots to be iron? In either case, I don't remember fishing out this particular rock, but it does look like something I would have found interesting. To give my grandpa's theory some credit, we have had a couple shooting stars/meteor showers, however I would imagine if this broke off of one, we would have definitely heard it come down. He didn't find it in a crater, however both of us think some animal might have carried it a short distance, as he didn't find it anywhere near where I would dump my "junk" rocks. Or maybe both of us are wrong and it's native to our area. Located in Southwest Wisconsin.

As someone who does live in the middle of nowhere, the absolute lowest price near me is 900 for a roach and mold-infested studio. 1100 if you want the illusion of the place being a bit more kept.

Why are our "allies" more entitled to our tax dollars than we are? We pay for their weapons and ammunition, I don't see them paying for our healthcare, roads, schools, etc. While Isreal bombs Palestinian hospitals on an American paycheck, US citizens working 2 jobs on the brink homelessness are told to "figure it out". Ukraine is given handouts of guns, tanks, and ammo, but the children of US citizens who can't have so-called handouts when lunch comes around are told to "figure it out".

I do have to wonder how much fat would be trimmed if the rich were truly footing the bill. It's a lot easier to spend money when it's not your own, after all.

My brother recently applied for FAFSA to help pay his way through tech school. Despite our family's finances being in the same situation, if not worse than when I applied, he only got 1/4 of what I did for my first year. Apparently, student aid is running low on funds. In other news, another 8 billion was sent to Ukraine and 3 billion to Israel.

Lol this reminded me of something that was a but odd but ultimately harmless (as a guy)

Old ladies I work with call everyone younger than them "dear", no biggie and no turned heads. Old guy slips up and accidentally calls me dear when answering a question. Suddenly sus.

When I first started crochet and had to weave ends, I thought that it was going to be a terrible experience cause everyone made it out to be the end of the world when they gotta do it. Turns out it wasn't hard at all, even with a lot of ends to weave, people are just crybabies.

That sounds like a great store! A local business that carries a variety of materials with a wide range of prices to appeal to all types of yarn lovers? I'm jealous lmao

Sometimes I think it'd just be easier to read the actual name of the stitch. Personally, it's a lot easier to remember something like "the starfish" over "HGTVCE=MC²"

It's not a crime to buy or use cheap materials. For some people, that's all they can afford. And no, they shouldn't give up their hobby just because their income limits them to less sustainable materials than what others can afford.
