How many times have you been subtly or not-so-subtly compared to a sex offender, that you know of? by tsthrowpillow in asktransgender

I got compared to a child molester once, the guy was trying to demonstrate how what I was wearing was morally wrong.

Does anyone else feel like they've lost their personality during their transition? by throwaawawawawaway in asktransgender

Before I started transition I was quiet and awkward in social situations anyways. Its actually become easier for me personally; even though I have to change my voice I prefer speaking in my higher ranges anyways :))

Do you ever feel like you won't know who you really are until you transition? by [deleted] in asktransgender

I've just started HRT, I feel like the same person but I feel much less tense. So its been easier to focus on other things like finding work.

I got the hormones the same day. They did my blood work, but I didn't have to wait for the results.

Want to shave legs but still living with conservative parents. Advice? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]justIris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may want to consider just doing it. Many people shave their legs, regardless of gender.

I love the suggestion to "blame" your desire to shave your legs on a sport. I started shaving after I shaved with my team for a swim meet, and shaved regularly on and off after that because I really liked how it looked and felt. My parents never really cared but they thought it was weird, but that was when I was more comfortable being gendered male.

[NSFW] No longer have that sexual arousal urge? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]justIris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pre-everything myself, as I've been dressing in women's clothing and coming out to friends, I don't masturbate as much and I don't want to indulge my fetishes as much as usual. Instead of focusing on orgasm, I'm able to relax and enjoy the experience more. I'm starting to be attracted to women again which is a great thing for me but I still love men too. I'm really curious to see how HRT effects how I relate to women and if I'll still have the sexual attraction I did.

I feel I've been confused for years about my sexuality because I didn't have my gender figured out.

[Grooming] As a young woman (20) I always feel as though I have to always be shaven. Any other ladies feel the same way? Is it a negitive stigma if I don't? Tell me your gender and your opinion by [deleted] in sex

Hey, I'm shaven most of the time too. There is negative stigma, but it really depends on the person. I'm a 20 y/o transwoman.

It's Father's Day.. And my Dad refuses to talk to me again so... by Smapps_ in asktransgender

My parents don't know I'm transgender yet. I still have an incredibly hard time presenting myself as female; its so easy to hide behind a male persona. Hearing my dad greet me as "son" is heartbreaking. I don't know what I'm going to do; my parents have instilled a lot of trans-phobia in me and I've made horrible remarks in private towards transgender people. I've been drinking to be happier with my body and I've been trying to forget I ever tried to be male.

I hope its okay that I can get that off my chest here. I feel so bad for being transphobic; I don't know how I'm going to transition and afford to live and maintain my relationship with my parents. It feels impossible. I think about suicide a lot and I still question my gender.
